iOS 17 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I had an early problem with Photos on b2.
I could look at the photos I have, but could not perform any functions with them.
No editing, no mailing or texting, could not take photo and have it saved to Photos, could not sync photos with desktop.
Suddenly yesterday, all started working again.
Was getting an error message that said “can’t perform that function. Try again later”.

Did you do a hard reset, or did these just sort themselves out own their own? Which device?

I use a SIM lock, but now the phone occasionally skips this somehow. It seems random - sometimes I still have to enter my PIN to use my SIM card, and sometimes I don't. Never had this happen before this beta.

So word of caution...I decided to go through all my passwords in Settings and update the ones with warnings. All was well until Google. I used the in app update on website feature in Passwords and then when I updated Google's it didn't save to Passwords. It's not easy remembering something fwq-logpb-keyunLL23. I'm not sure if it's a defect that Passwords didn't update, but I did encounter it on a couple of updates.

I’m using Bitwarden and running into a few issues.
Not OS related.

Anyone know how to get Photos to recognize pets? It says "People & Places" when in example screenshots it says "People, Pets and Places".

Is this feature available on an older phone? My test phone is an SE 2.

You can disable that in Settings.

I have tried for days and cannot get to see beta 2. I've even downloaded the file and tried to do a shift restore but the phone does not do anything.

I'm facing a few bugs the current ios17. The screens have a grey hue in apps and some websites. the search bar is mis aligned. I would gladly downgrade but I had not taken a backup of my phone unfortunately so that would be a huge effort. Hoping some of these things are addressed on ios17 beta 2?

Ive noticed a lot of issues with animations - they’re stuttering and I feel like my phone can’t keep 120hz anymore. Even scrolling settings or safari doesn’t seem as smooth as it was.

Maybe that’s just Apple getting ready for the introduction of the iPhone 15 Pro/Ultra 🤪

I did a hard restart but it still took a few days to return to normal.
The photos are stored on the phone.

The Files app in iPadOS 17 now offers more options for external drives! 👍🏻. I go into more specifics about it in this thread:

The new options seem to indicate to me that external drive re-formatting options may not be far away, and maybe could even show up in a later beta or 17.x update! 👍🏻. If you can erase a drive already, it stands to reason we’ll eventually have an option to re-format that same drive I would think. I think more formatting options for external drives are more likely now than ever before! 👍🏻

For me I am getting reports that callears can’t tell the phone is ringing and seem to get pushed to voice mail quicker than usual if Live Voice Mail is enabled.

I may disable that until B3
