Happens to me too, if you drag the conversation down slightly as if you were dismissing the keyboard, the text box appears
In case anyone can reliably reproduce it: FB12905259

They asked me for a screen recording, which I never manage to snag (issue either pops up when I forget / can‘t record or does not show up when I try to reproduce it / force it).

I did write a detailed explanation though which should suffice.

Looking forward to B6 as I'm still having facetime issues.

Incoming calls don't always activate my camera, although stabbing repeatedly on the camera icon (the rows of icons appear at the top as if expecting a conference call or something) does turn it on eventually.

To be honest, if the camera icon worked flawlessly and this was an official change, I quite like the idea of incoming video calls waiting for me to enable the camera.

yeah, seems like a lot of people are.

I've not had any issues with B5, love it, but others are suffering.

Hope B6 is a good one. Another 1gig build load would be comforting.

I’ve discovered that Standby Mode runs up Screen Time and Screen Active time under Battery. I can understand it adding to Screen Time but battery Screen Active shouldn’t be affected because the phone is plugged in.

Is this normal or something Apple will need to correct?

When someone shares their live location with you, is there any way to switch to Hybrid or Satellite?

I was really hoping for some functionality to come back to my HomePods. I can't update them, I can't airplay to them (I know airplay is a known bug still) from any device, and Siri requests don't work. I've reported this so many times in iOS, TvOS, and Homepod categories. I've had bricks for speakers for a month now. Hope this is fixed by official release.
Reset them and try updating again. Worked for me.

I’m a couple of betas behind on PB 3. Did anyone experience the camera losing focus and blurring on the regular photo setting in camera after using portrait mode for a bit?

Just curious if it was a thing in 3 but fixed in 4 etc.

I haven’t experienced that but I think I’ve also only taken one portrait shot in the last month or so.

That's pissed me off for a while now.

I thought this was happening and hadn’t realised it was a feature. Can we turn it off??

I must say the whole wallpaper thing with focus modes and such is just plain confusing and doesn’t really sit right with me. My brain can’t learn it lol

Interesting hike this morning.
I have a 2.5 mile trail that circles around a small peak right by my house. I usually take my S23U with me and my AW Ultra. Best of both worlds…. Equals 2.56 miles and 46 flights of stairs. Some elevation changes.

Today I took my 13 ProMax and my AW Ultra.
Odd thing is I was losing my signal on my 13PM when I was on the backside of the peak. Both phones are on Mint Mobile (TMobile). Never lost signal with the S23 Ultra. First time doing this with the 13PM.

Haven’t really paid alot of attention to the cell side as it has been decent all through this 17 beta.

For some, this is a great feature, but I definitely get what you are saying. The beauty of it, though, is: you don't need to use it. My thinking is that it's always better to have tools than not have them.

This is purely due to the difference in the cellular modem. Qualcomm X60 vs X70.

Anyone else’s standby mode not save which mode/screen you select?

Every night i have re-select which screen I want rather than the phone remembering. And then when I wake up, it’s reverted back to the default.

Having to constantly delete and reinstall 3rd party apps every few days as they are taking up more data faster than normal. Never had this issue with any of the iOS 16 betas. iOS 17 beta 5 is my first one. I’ve rebooted, deleted and reinstalled apps multiple times and apps are taking up more data than they usually would in the past. I hope the next beta fixes this. Anyone experiencing the same problem?

What kind of data are you referring to? Are they just sucking it down from the internet somehow? Or are you not referring to data but to the memory occupied by the app’s code itself?
