iOS 17 Beta 6 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Over the weekend I wend ahead and did an ipsw on both the 13 ProMax and iPad Pro 11. Hoping to fix the issue with iMessages not syncing across devices (read and delete) and the issue with Contacts; name on phone but number on iPad.
Sadly it did not help at all.
In addition my spell check / word suggestion is even worse. Started a post in Reddit and after the word "Shiba" the suggested next words were "Deal Deck Dean". 😶🌫️ Great feature when it works.
I'll keep my eyes open and hope we get the next version tomorrow.

Even if I try and move some pinned websites in Arc browser it doesn’t do it.
So must be a global iOS issue
Before you deleted yours, did you look at the little map provided? Did yours have your home shown as a location, or is it just the last few places you were the day before?
In other words, I have a circle around a shopping plaza near me, but no circle around my actual home.
I had an issue with this beta that iMessage on the iPhone shows names while the iPad shows numbers.
So I did some testing (with some help from friends) since I did an ipsw update on both.
I was sent 5 messages from a mix of Android and iOS.
iPhone shows 5. iPad shows 3.
Open iPhone, it shows 4, iPad shows 3. No idea why the count on the iPhone was wrong (5 vs 4).
The missing message is from Marcus (Goldman Sachs). Was not forwarded.
Reading or deleting on one device has no effect on the count or actual message on the other device.
Still no idea on name vs number - both use iCloud for Contacts.
btw - none of the messages showed Notification on my AW Ultra even though it is active. Could open and read them.

New iOS 17 feature not a bug. Set a reminder for laundry, take a nap and the laundry gets done and reminder deleted!

I am on the latest beta on both iPad and iPhone (14 pro max) and have found that the photos and id's are all messed up. For example of I open anything like messages I see my id photo to right but then on the left it is my wife's I'd. This happens all over the place. I did a search but couldn't find anything.
Have you heard of this happening from anyone else.

Anyway to post a screenshot of your issue? May be helpful for folks to see. Also a simple reboot will fix a lot of weird one off issues.

- Normally I don’t report on here as standard until I’ve HR a few times and slapped a fresh install on the iOS. The whole process only takes 10-15 mins, then I know it’s a bug to stay and worth reporting. And this one is staying 🪲 grrr.
You have started a new conversation for everyone to see, so hopefully people will jump in an advise some things to try.
As Bailey mentions, try a couple of Hard Restarts. Press volume up, then down, then press and hold the power button till you see the Apple logo. If your device has a home button, hold down the button and power button together till you see the Apple logo.
If that doesn’t help try logging out of iCloud and then log back in and let your device pull everything back down from the cloud. That might sort your user photos out.
You can also try reinstalling the iOS. There’s a guide pinned at the top of this forum, on the first page.
Failing all that, there is a good chance we will see a new beta today so you can install that to see if it fixes anything. Then try the steps above maybe.
I don’t think I’ve seen any references to this, but they’ve brought back an arrow as a shape in Markup. Earlier on during the betas you had to hand draw an arrow, which has been a staple shape in Markup since it was introduced.
Did you try and reappend your photo on your Apple ID yo see whether it solves the glitch?
I've gone some steps further on a Mac, both on beta trunk and on normal update trunk - very bad syncing issues for me as well. Messages still hangs unrecoverable on Mac as well, at times (but this hanging existed for years - not necessarily beta cycle related).
I'm hoping to see SMS sync recovered before final release! I'm hoping certain apps and back-end code gets a full rewrite next year.. at this point I'm not counting on the many years of issues with Contacts and Messages are not going to be entirely fixed. Not sure how folks at Apple are alright with all the sync and hanging issues for Contacts and Messages both for so many years..
We should see new betas today, always hoping for improvements! =)

In some ways drawing the arrow was easier than inserting it from the menu. But the lack of color was a deal killer. Black blends in too many places. Glad color is back. Have no idea when it happened.

I feel the same. I always just draw the arrow as it's quicker. But yeah, dang glad the color is back. I rarely use black colors when marking up.

That is expected behavior, it’s how it’s worked on iTunes for decades.
Crossfade works on radio stations, playlists, shuffle mode.
But it Has never worked on Albums, because a feature of the album format is transitions between songs.
Having two songs that are already supposed to transition into each other crossfade six seconds early wouldn’t be a good experience.
Even albums with silence between the songs, sometimes the length between them is slightly different on a song by song case for artistic reasons, indexing reasons, commercial reasons.
