I’ve also been hoping they’d remove the “My Location” text from the Weather app, but I guess that’s what they want. So ugly.
Agreed! It looks dumb and non-sense. What exactly does, “My Location” mean? It makes it harder when you share a screenshot because then you have to explain where your location is at.

Just list out the city you are in. It’ll look more refined. Problem solved! ✅

How to install beta via OTA?
  1. Enable Beta Updates (Settings>General>Software Updates>Beta Updates)
  2. Check and sign into the right Apple ID to access beta
  3. Select which beta you would like to receive (Public/Developer)
  4. Hit "Back" and pull down to refresh
  5. Do an encrypted backup or iCloud backup before installing the beta from release build
  6. Install the beta
If you no longer wish to receive beta updates:
  1. Turn off the Beta Updates (you can also sign out of your Apple ID to unlink your developer account)
  2. Wait for the next public release or follow the guide below to install the IPSW release build
Troubleshoot: Sometimes, the beta update will not show so you may need to enable/disable Airplane Mode or restart your device before rechecking for update.

How to install beta via IPSW on Mac?
  1. You will need to install either Xcode beta or MobileDevice.pkg which can be extracted from the Xcode beta (tap with two finger or right click to Show Package Content>Contents>Resources>Packages>MobileDevice.pkg - this will work on older Macs that do not support the latest macOS or Xcode beta)
  2. Do an encrypted backup in Finder in case you need to restore your device
  3. Hold down Option + Check for Update and select the appropriate IPSW file for your device (whether you're updating to a newer/beta firmware, reinstalling the same firmware or downgrading to previous firmware while retaining all your data) downloaded from Apple using your free developer account. Note: You must have an active internet connection as it will check the IPSW signing status before it will proceed with the update.
  4. Enter your iPhone passcode once prompted to proceed.
Notes/Tips:
  • Always keep a backup in case you need to restore your data if you restore your device
  • It may be better to close all apps before installing the updates and/or turn off your device for about a minute or restart a few minutes after your device is updated
  • You can also manually select the IPSW if you are restoring your device using Option + Restore iPhone. Restore will wipe all your personal data which you will need to restore your backup either using iCloud backup or Finder/iTunes backup
  • You do not need to install the MobileDevice.pkg from each Xcode beta version unless Finder does not recognize the new iOS beta
  • There is no MobileDevice.pkg equivalent to iTunes for PC which would require a new iTunes to support new/beta iOS
  • If you receive a new iPhone, you can connect to Mac to update or restore your device to the latest iOS before setting up your device.
  • You can also use the Recovery Mode/DFU to update or restore your device by manually selecting IPSW

Historical beta release chart:
Don't update iOS. It has a bug in Privacy Settings. For Health I=you can either Turn On All or Turn Off All - and doesn't save if you make changes to individual settings.

Agreed! It looks dumb and non-sense. What exactly does, “My Location” mean? It makes it harder when you share a screenshot because then you have to explain where your location is at.

Just list out the city you are in. It’ll look more refined. Problem solved! ✅
Your location's name is under Your Location.

When creating a list, I now see all three options Standard, Groceries, Smart List. In the previous beta only Standard and Groceries were available (maybe a bug?).

Since beta 5 all my 3rd party apps data usage increases very rapidly. For example, I used instagram for 5 SECONDS and data for the app went from 343mb to 374mb. Happens with all apps. I’ve rebooted, deleted and reinstalled apps and still have this issue. Is Anyone else having this issue?

Pretty sure it means: “Where I am right now”.

Widgets on my Home Screen show up as empty white boxes. Restarted my phone and didn't help. FWIW, it's the Paku AQI widget and the Carrot Weather widget.

Mine do kind of that way. I have to press, go in and select the ones I had in my stack. Been doing that for a while. Even when I restart my 14 Pro Max. It may have stopped when restarting, but still does it with updates.

Welp... Always On Display is still crap. When on the charger past midnight it will just shut off after a minute of charging. Drives me nuts because this did not happen in previous ios 17 builds, and certainly not in ios 16. I charge every night, and I just want a bedside clock (which is great because it shows notifications too) but nooooo they had to change it in ios 17 so it turns off after a few minutes of being charged.

When I had ios 16, maybe it would turn off after 12 hours of sitting on the charger but a slight jiggle would wake the phone up and keep the AOD on (while being charged) now... nothing and it is driving me nuts that I can't figure it out. I tried everything.

Starting with Beta 5, sending long audio recordings in iMessage (5-12 min in length) lock up the entire Messages app for 2-4 minutes (basically as long as it takes to actually send the message).

Sucks, cause super long audio messages used to only take 10 seconds or so to go through…I’m assuming it’s taking forever now due to the transcription feature.

Hopefully they’re able to fix this. Recording a 10-min audio message and then NOT having access to the Messages app for the next five minutes is pretty unacceptable.

That’s a bummer, as my Home Screen is also filled with widgets and I am still on PB3. Let us know if you find a way of fixing it. 🖐️

Just updated to PB4. After iPhone restart (OFF>ON) all the widgets went beautifully white. I clicked on one of them (the clock), which opened the clock app. Went back to the Home Screen and all the widgets went back to normal. So in my case they just took some seconds to repopulate after restart. All working as expected now.

The Apple Cash card has appeared in Wallet for me with Beta 6, but my phone's region is set to Hungary, where Apple Cash is not supported, can someone outside of US check if it has appeared in Wallet for them?
It‘s a known issue with betas (that Apple Cash related things show up for regions that don‘t support it during beta season builds).

Did the OTA on both my 13 ProMax and iPad Pro 11.
Have not really started going through them.
That said, here is (ongoing?) one - delete an iMessage from one device and get the following message (see attached).
Sad thing is it doesn’t work. It only deletes from the single device leaving it as unread on the others.
Same here
