Only the HomePod and AppleTV. But my understanding is that the hub doesn’t need to be on a beta.

The security history didn't show up in the Home App until I updated my ATV to TVOS beta. Once I updated the ATV, it automatically turned on in the Home App.

ATV is running fine on the latest couple betas for me in case you're thinking of updating.

I haven’t had the square notifications one, but a very annoying notification UI bug I’ve had since iOS 16 is notifications not loading in the proper order when going from the stack to the full view. It’s jumpy and random, and usually happens when there’s a stack from an app, say multiple notifications from Messages from the same person and other notifications around them. It should be a simple fix (scheduling how they load) but it’s been so long, I think it’ll just stay this way for a long time.
Does it happen when using a Focus? Focuses can mix up the order of notifications to put what ever it thinks is most relevant at the top.

I have the iphone 13 pro, there is no stuttering, I havent even notice stuttering on the last betas. Have you installed the ios beta as new? or did you kept updating from ios 16?

The stuttering only appears when swiping down the Notification Center, rest of the system is smooth. It disappears if you disable the search on home screen.

PD: I updated from 16

Beta 8 running perfectly on a release day iPhone 14 Pro Max as did betas 7, 6 and 5. As an aside my battery health is still at 99% - no drama.

Delighted with the performance of the iOS betas this year. Looking forward to final release so everyone can benefit from the autocorrect and autocomplete updates plus it would be great for everyone to be using the new sticker features.

9 out of 10 awarded to iOS 17 from me. It loses a point for not having a ‘big’ new feature but I’ll take the stability benefits instead any day.

I have a funny feeling that iOS 17 has improved my photos taken on the phone. The 14 Pro Max is now a really super camera 📸 That’s my main use really. The camera speed also seems a little better - happy days. Could be imagining the improvements of course but I don’t think so.

It looks like everyone is loving this Beta 8. Solid improvements! 🥲

Still loving the iOS Weather Wallpaper. 🌕 Full moon tomorrow. 👀

I hardly notice a difference.
The main changes are in the sharing tab. the lack of history view against friends is a big omission. The updates of friends achievements across the top is also new and not something that i see as an improvement, personal opinion of course. As for challenges, when is apple going to allow group challenges (this is not new of course).

Hi guys. I started to use iOS 17 from beta 7 and I have a strange bug. So both the wallpaper and the widget do not activate the gps. How come ? is it a bug?

Have a quick check of your settings. For widgets it needs this option… might help.

Failing that, try a hard restart.

Not sure if its a bug with the beta or its something wrong from my end, but iMessage won’t activate my number. This started when I jump into beta wagon (beta 7) . Tried to solve problem usual way:Turn off iMessage and Face Time, Reset Network Settings, even removed SIM-card. Nothing helps. Still spinning wheel on my number and waiting for activation forever.

I just texted my wife via Siri on CarPlay. I have her phone number and her @me.com address in my Contacts app - her phone number as a phone number and her @me.com address as an email address. Siri/CarPlay prompted me with "Which one?". It has never done that on any previous release, beta or production.
Both are valid target addresses for messages ( which isn’t really a txt message unless data is down or it can’t deliver via messages) so maybe they fixed an addressing issue with Siri

If you’ve tried all that, which is exactly what I’d do, then This could be your carrier, not the iOS.

It's okay, make sure you have money topped-up to your account, so that Facetime and iMessage services can activate.
Just a small explanation: For activation they send a hidden message on +44 number, that’s why it could cost some money and if you don’t have it, then it can’t activate

Same here. Will try the suggestions above. I’m on BT/EE network!

Update:
I had been using WiFi calling so toggled airplane mode off (1 bar on mobile signal with WiFi enabled also).
Turned off iMessage & Face time
Removed/re-added my phone number from iCloud “sign in & security”
Rebooted phone
Turned on iMessage. It activated straight away
Went to turn on FaceTime it was also activated!

Hope this works and wasn’t just a fluke :)

My personal rule is not to update to a beta anything anyone else in the family uses unless it is easily downgradable. You’ve given me hope that the feature will show up in 2 weeks. I’ll just wait till then.

But thanks for giving me that hope!
