Strange issue I’ve just happened upon. Does Health take a day off every week for anybody else?
Mine is showing fine. The gap is when I wasn't tracking sleep.

I jumped on the tvOS beta with my 4K and it went kaput. Showed me a a phone with a Bluetooth logo on the screen next to an Apple TV which would bring up the option to “recover” but nothing ever happened. The screen would go black and then it would come right back.

I decided a full power cycle might be the ticket but after disconnecting and reconnecting power it would show the Apple logo for a few seconds while the status light blinked and then it would reset.

Talked to Apple and they said I needed to send it in for repair. I have three Apple TVs in the house and have never had a problem with any of them before this.

Not saying the beta broke it, but just sayin’…

As this is an iOS thread I’ll say Beta 8 is humming along nicely on my 14PM, as is usual. Very happy with this phone right now and can finally say the quality of the software can be compared to that of the hardware and the overall experience is heading in the right direction.

If I did that with my ONE AppleTV, I would be sleeping on the couch for a very long time…

I’ve been running betas on my daily driver phone since sometime in the iOS 3 cycle and have never had a catastrophic failure like this. Luckily it was only one of three boxes in the house so no doghouse but it’s definitely an inconvenience.

Yeah, I know that… but it’s NEVER prompted me for that distinction before in any previous version of iOS or any previous beta of iOS 17. And if the destination is the same (text message to my wife’s phone) it should not matter - not should it even be a question that I need to answer.
Does your wife also have an iPhone? If so, what are the iMessage addresses (able to receive iMessage) configured on HER phone? I would check there to make sure that it hasn't changed or been updated. (We are seeing all sorts of settings that have been updated during installation of this beta.) I get prompted to pick an address all the time if I don't specify "mobile" when making the request.

This beta feels pretty smooth, I'd even say better than the previous one, I'm actually surprised.

But I'm still having problems with:
- keyboard that lags a lot, it's really annoying If you type a lot,
- battery life is STILL pathetic, nothing changed from the previous beta. Right now I'm literally recharging my phone for the THIRD TIME to at least 50% because it drains battery so fast. I have never had such a bad battery life with my 13 Pro Max. It feels like my old iPhone X that was on iOS 14 with 80% battery health. And no, I don't think that's a 3rd party app problem since beta 6 was doing perfectly fine, obviously not iOS 16.6 level but a lot better than what I'm having since beta 7,
- 3rd party apps are still taking more space than on iOS 16,
- Safari still stutters when swiping up to see all of the open tabs.

Her iPhone 14 is running iOS 16.6 ... and nothing has changed on her end - her phone, her version of iOS and her iMessage settings... THAT was my point... that MY iPhone with iOS 17 beta 8 suddenly started prompted me to specify phone number or @me.com address, which it has never done before... her entry in my address book in changed from probably 10 years ago... and her settings have not changed. The only difference is MY iPhone being updated to iOS 17 beta 8. That is why I mentioned it.

I am not necessarily looking for a "fix"... just pointing out the anomaly with this release.

As others report excellent battery life, it's sounding like you may have a runaway process, likely associated with a 3rd party app. Screenshots of battery usage would be helpful.
My usage hasn't changed. I'm at at home, on wifi, all day. On the 16 beta train, I would mostly hit the 4pm mark in the neigborhood of 60%.

Frankly, this beta is worse than 7 was.

And I even slept in this morning, lol.

On what apps? Is it the same in all apps?

Yes any app that uses text input fields just like here on safari. It’s like it always gets stuck on the first letter of a word and then it catches up

Like if I write „like that“ it’s like „l … *phone thinking* ike t … *phone thinking* hat“.

It seems like I type faster than my phone can process what I may want to type and it’s suggestion gets in the way of my typing

Facebook the main offender; no surprise there! Anyway, battery doesn't seem as bad as your making it out to be. Could be some background indexing going on.

A 20% difference is “as bad as I’m making it out to be.”

Like I said, my usage hasn’t changed. 60% when it’s time to clock out means I don’t have to charge midday to make sure I can go out after work.

The battery life of this beta cycle has been crap.

I’ve been trying to download the IPSW for iPadOS beta 8 for my iPad Pro 10.5. But when I click on it, it takes me to a page that goes nowhere. “Access denied”. I don’t think the beta is loaded into their system for whatever reason. Would someone mind checking on the Apple developer software downloads page for me to see if they see the same thing? Thanks in advance.

I hope this fixes the alarm in iOS 17. Ever since beta 2 or 3 my alarm fails to go off in the morning, intermittently (about 50% of the time).
