Crazy day, at 1PM PST tvOS was announced, a few minutes later it was OTA. But this morning’s announced MacOS took to 2:35 PM PST to finally show up OTA. Yes this year so far is strange with the iOS beta retraction.

Do we think AirPlay Receiver will expand compatibility to other devices at some point in the iPadOS 17 update cycle, such as the iPhone screen mirroring to the iPad? I really hope they expand the compatibility beyond just the Vision Pro. It wouldn’t make much sense to limit it to just the Vision Pro in my opinion, especially since it looks identical to AirPlay Receiver on macOS. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hard to say. But on balance, I’d say it’s unlikely this late in the OS cycle to introduce that big a new feature, especially since it wasn’t a secret that it existed.

If it comes at all, I’d say it’ll be in iOS 18.

Monday is a holiday here in the US and Apple is probably off.
Thats an another reason, but most of the USA still works on that day. Apple stores are all open. Some shipping is limited, mostly effecting schools, some health providers, banks, post office, and other nonessential government services. Even if state side Apple Corp has the day off they have staff working that day as a consumer oriented company.

No they don’t…

It’s a Federal/Bank holiday. Every bank/post office is closed. Apple corporate is closed. Nothing tomorrow…guaranteed.

I clearly stated that the corporate office is closed…

Apple stores are retail…not corporate.
I did say

But Apple is a world wide company, and you cannot single out corporate as only operational in the USA. But yes the Apple Developer updates originate in the states. ;)

Not much against upcoming 17.4 still.
I expect the new stolen device security to be improved. See Apple Music/AppleTV bug fixes. Apple TV app interface badly needs help as there is no genres with TV series. There is a chance that iOS 17.4/iPadOS 17.4 accompanies new hardware to shelves. (iPhone SE, updated iPads)

Thats exactly what macOS 14.3 beta is, just a bug fix cycle mostly, then it's out maybe Jan 22nd 2024.
Really a month + later and that prediction same day as beta 1 seeded is still I think spot on. The only deviation was I expected beta 2 Jan 9th, RC Jan 16th, Public on Jan 22nd. That early Jan 3rd seed, retracted the same day, beta 3 on the 9th has it right on target still. Thanks Apple. 😎
