The RC version installed, and no trace of the region section and apps that have requested access to the NFC that appeared in the first beta and disappeared in later ones. I suppose they will activate it remotely, or the NFC issue when you install an app that requires its use, such as from my bank.

I would bet a press release for new watch bands tomorrow morning. We then get the RC for WatchOS in the afternoon.

If there’s a RC 2 most likely tomorrow. However my guess is we are done and onto 17.5 beta 1 next week.
I agree. The significance of the update won't drive a second Release Candidate. Only a problematic first release candidate will do that. I'm not catching wind of any significant issues so far with this RC, so hopefully, this one is it.

A few leakers claim that the major purpose of this update is to improve iOS stability and polish. It seems that the major update to iOS, which focuses on augmented reality, will release early in 2019. Once more, only rumors.

I’m not quite clear on what you are referring to. I don’t believe there is a major update coming focusing on augmented reality. Do you mean Artificial Intelligence, rather?

Not an iOS question but there’s very little OS chat in the other forums.

Do we get RCs for WatchOS, MacOS, TVOS etc this week, or are we on course for those to be released later than iOS 17.4 because they don’t have the EU time pressure on them?

I do not have an RC version of watchOS, at least not at the time I write this message. It's strange that they haven't released it with the other systems.

Everything other than iOS/iPadOS 17.4 involved with EU DMA requirement has an extra week to go before it gets seeded to the public.

I wonder if we are going through one more week of RC2s with RC1s for those items that this week received a beta.

Nope, as the EU deadline is still set for the 6th of March, so Apple should release iOS 17.4 to everybody on Monday. The only question is whether they will push the RC2 earlier on or not.

I agree, the whole beta process this week has just been odd. Some RC, some beta, WatchOS no where in sight. What a interesting week this cycle was......

I think you can attribute most if not all of the wonkiness to the need to get iOS done for the EU. Absent that requirement, I think we would have seen a more extended beta period as in other years, with a release of the X.4 versions of all the software later in the month.
