At first I didn't think you were correct, but checking back to last year and the year before it was 16 days last year (Monday June 6 to Wednesday June 22). In 2021, it was 14 days (Monday, June 7 to Monday June 21).

So my money would be on Monday-Wednesday next week.
I checked on the chart on Thinkybits, before I posted. šŸ˜‰

Yea most otherwise was 17 days, as I think one came on a Thursday, but always in the second week following WWDC.

As for when during the week, Iā€™m not taking any guess on that one haha.

That sounds about right. This is the first Developer Beta Iā€™ve decided to hop on for. So far itā€™s been really stable for me, at least iPadOS 17 is. All of my other devices are running current versions of their respective OS, I heard enough people saying iPadOS 17 was stable that I decided to give it a try. So far Iā€™m really liking some of the changes theyā€™re making with iPadOS 17, I love the new Multitasking & Gestures menu in the Settings app, and Iā€™m hoping they continue to expand it! šŸ‘šŸ». But with how stable this beta has been for me, Iā€™m not sure that we really need to wait a whole other week for the next one, even though thatā€™s likely how it will work.
iPadOS 17 is really great for me too. The only two things that have been bad so far are of course battery life and sound from AirPods. Nevertheless, it is still a beta and these things will be fixed definitely soon.

Thanks for pointing out the Multitasking and Gestures menu. I was not aware of that add. Is the Swipe Finger from Corner control also greyed out for everyone else?
No problem, itā€™s been fun actually being able to hunt for the new changes myself, instead of having to wait for others to write about them! šŸ‘šŸ». The swipe finger from corner option is grayed out for me as well. They also seem to be going through the Settings app and adding icons to menus to kind of unify the aesthetic with macOS System Settings (only with flat versions of those little icons). Iā€™m interested in seeing if they continue to expand on these changes in the Settings app with the next beta version. šŸ‘šŸ»

This beta feels like iOS 16.6 beta 5 lol. Not much new, also stable
The first dev beta usually is. It the ones that come after it that start to reflect underlying changes with how it works in conjunction with other Apple OS's. This doesn't become a public release until late Sept, thats a long time from now.

The new safari 17 the way it occasionally seems to be doing something after reacquiring a web page instead of not being busy is evidence of its newness. I see that on iOS/IPadOS/MacOS versions.

Exactly this. It's usually around beta 3-4 when "things break" and there are "issues" that really really have you looking forward to the next beta or even downgrading. It happens every year.

Weā€™ll know when we know, but with the (intentional or not - I lean toward the former, as a developer) increased eyes on this initial Dev beta build, letā€™s not have anyone lose their collective šŸ’©s if Apple extends the update cadence a bit.

I tend to think not š˜¶š˜Æš˜š˜¦š˜“š˜“ they cut one beta out of the entire sequence. Or they move to one week cycles earlier than normal.

The 2nd dev beta is usually 2 to 3 weeks from WWDC. ;)

As I posted earlier in the thread, itā€™s always been during the 2nd week after WWDC. Only with iPhoneOS 3.0 was it in the 3rd. (Source ThinkyBits iOS beta history chart).

So, itā€™s 99% likely to be next week, itā€™s just whether itā€™s Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

2 to 3 weeks is implying something between those 2 intervals. I originally said it would be the weds 6/21, but it's just as likely 6/20. ;)

I don't think any of us are in a position to definitively say when anything is going to come out or not regarding Apple. Unless you are secretly Craig Federighi or Tim Cook.
Every iOS x.0 beta 2, bar iPhoneOS 3.0 came out in the 2nd week following.

The facts back me up.

If Iā€™m wrong, Iā€™ll back and admit it.

What does that have to do with this year? Anything can happen to change that. My point is that you can make an educated guess or speculation based on past history. But you canā€™t say ā€œdefinitelyā€ like you did because you donā€™t know nor do you know anyone that does.

I can say it, and I do say it. šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‰

Iā€™m happy to be proven wrong, so we will see.
