I think the dumbest security tweak someone did with the new 2023 betas, is using Safari 17 private tab on iPadOS 17. For iOS 17 it works as it should (Face ID/Key code). But if you want to unlock a IPad with Safari using private tab, it requires "two" Touch ID or key code entries to see a normal private tab in Safari? Fortunately you can turn this default setting off in settings for Safari. “Require Touch ID to unlock Private Browing”

Related to this
That means someone who has access to your unlocked phone and opens your Safari browser won't be able to get to your private browsing history without secondary authentication. Face ID or a passcode can be used to access the Safari private tabs
Safari doesn't keep track of history in private tabs. Just not thought out as far as iPads.

Now that’s an interesting tidbit! That would not surprise me terribly.

OK. I’ve had a chance to watch this video (link below). I’m not sure I am as optimistic as this iReviews guy is that we’re going to see some of these features in the upcoming betas. He is basing much of his take on the rumored features (mainly from @Analyst941) that did not actually show up, hypothesizing that all of the Apple developers were working on the VisionPro and now that that has been revealed, they now have time to work on these rumored but undelivered features.

First, we should take any rumor that originated with @Analyst941 as being presumptively false unless corroborated by another source (Gurman, in particular). Apple appears to have fed @analyst941’s source at least some, if not all, misinformation in an effort to determine the source of leaks.

Secondly, its not like all the Apple software engineers breathed a huge sigh of relief at the end of the keynote and said “now we can create all those features for iOS that we wanted to but couldn’t”. This stuff takes time.

Now, is it possible, they had some of these features mostly baked and have used the last week to put the final touches on them so they could be delivered in beta 2 (or beta 3)? Sure, it is definitely possible. But I would not bet the farm on it.

ireviews said a new redesign control screen might arrive in beta 2/3
I’m hoping this is so. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if some of the smaller rumored features end up coming in later updates, not necessarily betas for the first version, but I think some of that stuff could come in 17.x updates. I’m really looking forward to the next developer beta! 👍🏻
