GOOD EVENING EVERYONE!

The day is upon us, are we all ready for beta 2 tomorrow?? Or will it come out next week? Inquiring minds want to know.
I have a feeling it's coming tomorrow. I don't have the patience to wait till next week. Tomorrow is a big day. I'm going to stay very positive and hopeful. It's that serious!

In addition, I can't believe we are less than 3 months away to see the iPhone 15 Line up. They will be running freshly baked iOS 17. 🤩

Hoping for today, would make sense historically, but I wouldn’t be surprised at a Wednesday drop or even another week, disappointingly - Only because I love that shiny new button feeling and the fresh ride of testing things out.

🚨 Let’s hope for a smooth beta 2, BUT LISTEN UP PEOPLE, they have been known to get a lot worse at the beginning of a point releases. Beta 1 is more polished shall we say for a first release, then new features get added and that means MORE BUGS 🚨

Think of it this way, an extra week may also include more fixes / higher built

And more unicorns too!

Apple has a schedule. Whatever it is, barring significant issues, they will keep to it. For 13 of be the last 14 years, it’s been 14-16 days after DP1 was released. Logic says that there’s no reason that won’t be the case this year as well, particularly given the relative stability of the build we’ve had thus far. But logic does not trump Apple’s internally developed schedule.

We’ll know in about 8 hours.

Very true. In the past, beta 2 / beta 3 is when I’ve gone back to the previous public iOS release given how buggy they are so I’m hoping this time it’s not the case given how minor this release is. Fingers crossed.

I keep saying this for a reason. As far as I can remember, save maybe once or twice, Beta 1 is usually pretty good overall. It’s when they start adding in the new features and moving things and changing this and that and then back to this and then to that anyway… ugh. I think people forget the rollercoaster the summer of betas usually is. Save that Beta 1 .ipsw! 😝

Oh for sure, but we have to bite that bullet eventually, better get it over with so we can move on the beta cycle.

Im totally up for jumping in at the deep end.

Was more a mild heads up for people who might have found beta 1 too much to handle on their daily, and for them to maybe think twice until beta 4, I'd say when things "can" settle down.

This is the first time I’ve ever been involved in the Developer Betas. I’m only running the Developer Beta for iPadOS 17, because I heard it was really stable. I’ve been running it the last couple of weeks, and it’s been running very smoothly! I think I’ve only encountered 1 bug with the new lock screen customization, everything else is running about as well as a public release version! 👍🏻. I’m looking forward to the second beta, I know there may be more bugs, but on the other hand, most of the new features Apple advertised for iPadOS 17 are already present in the first beta, and I know I’ve heard a lot of people say that the reason the subsequent betas generally get more bugs is because they’re adding more major features. So I’ll be interested in seeing how stable the next beta version is.

it has been before! Although I’d thoroughly enjoy being surprised, I’m still thinking it’ll be next week.
I think I'm changing my mind in favor of a release today.. Going over release dates and history, the second beta release does mostly seem to come out between 14-16 days after beta 1. Today being day 15, odds are actually pretty favorable for a release today, and if not most likely tomorrow.
