I have the 17 beta profile installed. As far as I know a profile is still required. I was only getting betas for 16.6 until I installed it.

The option to reformat with a different file system is not available. When you choose erase it does reformat the drive, but in the same file system it had.The Files app in iPadOS 17 now offers more options for external drives! 👍🏻. I go into more specifics about it in this thread:
The new options seem to indicate to me that external drive re-formatting options may not be far away, and maybe could even show up in a later beta or 17.x update! 👍🏻. If you can erase a drive already, it stands to reason you should get an option to re-format that same drive I would think. I can’t confirm yet whether the option to re-format possibly appears after erasing it, I haven’t tried the erase function on any of my drives yet, and I may have to just try it out on a sacrificial drive to see what it does. But I think more formatting options for external drives are more likely now than ever before! 👍🏻

I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you’re meaning. What is the link for? And what do you mean by “Easily done but…”? I hope you’re having a great day! 👍🏻

Oh, ok, thanks, that is helpful! 👍🏻. I will move my post to that thread then! Thanks @Pearsey for the heads up, I appreciate it! 👍🏻They mean that you are in the wrong forum, as this one is meant to be used to speculate about next iOS 17 release dates, rather than actual features. So they put a link there for you to repost it in the relevant forum.
I moved my comment over to that thread you linked. Thank you for the suggestion! 👍🏻
In iOS 17, Apple is introducing a new feature for app developers called TipKit, which brings a unified way for all apps to provide helpful advice about features their users may not miss. It’s a great idea, but Apple itself seems to really struggle when it comes to getting users to embrace new features.
If we are lucky beta 3 will drop week of July 3rd. Note that iOS 16 beta 3 took 21 days to drop thou.
It was the same for beta 2 also. Doubters were surprised when it showed up later that Wednesday 21st. Expect it Thursday July 6th.Holiday week in the states. Vote, nope.
In a general sense you think this is true?
Sorry Apple, most people will never use any of the new features coming in iOS 17
How can Apple get typical iPhone users to discover new features on a device they know so well?www.macworld.com

I do. From my point of view, Apple doesn't communicate new features with new OS releases properly. All they do is show them at WWDC (let's be honest, most of the users never watch them), then make a web page dedicated to this release on the website (do most of the users visit Apple's website to learn about new features? - Quite unlikely) and after that let users know about some of them in "Software Update" section. (Many Apple Devices update automatically during the night and users barely notice it). A small remark: I'm not devaluing Apple's efforts, but they need to improve awareness about new features. The best way, I guess, that could be implemented is a new page, that would appear after updating and suggest looking at new key features in this particular update with a 'skip' button, if a user is not interested. In a general sense you think this is true?

I just saw this little tutorial on the lockscreen for changing wallpaper-I do. From my point of view, Apple doesn't communicate new features with new OS releases properly. early betas of iOS x.0 are not 1 week intervals. It's only been 6 days since beta 2. I suggested it would arrive 2 days after holiday next week on July 6th.Today DB3?
It is definitely coming next week, as well as Public beta 1 likely. The 16.6's are coming out now.
I'd also love to see a 17b3 today with the hope of getting rid of Outlook and having IMAP Mail working again.
I also suspect it'll be next week though.
Don't forget that next week is the 4th of July holiday in the states, so that could impact a new beta next weekIt is definitely coming next week, as well as Public beta 1 likely.
