While Thursday 6th will likely see iOS/iPadOS 17 beta 3, this week would still be a partial work week again vetting 16.6 for a RC, so I don't think that will show. Yes most people make this an extended weekend this week in Cupertino because of July 4th falling on a Tuesday this year. I seen people really locally relaxing after the heat wave of this past weekend, and not out and about in their cars except to the coast to enjoy the nice weather and beaches. It's more likely the first PB of iOS 17 will come early next week along with mid next week the 16.6 RC.

I don’t disagree with most of your post but Apple is not going to base beta releases on how hot the weather may be in Cupertino. Apple has a schedule to meet and the employees know they need to get it done.

Is a day here or there that important that Apple isn't allowed to vary the seeding dates at all? ;)

I don’t think the weather has anything to do with it. When I worked in magazines be it Vogue, GQ blah blah never meeting a deadline did it waver.

You have a schedule and you need to stick to it or all the cogs come tumbling down. I can’t see Apple being any different. Hardware must meet deadlines and software release must move in time with that.

Beta 3 is definitely ready and sitting there loaded on servers, so could come today, but, we seem to always see it a day after US holidays.

Is that because of staff using holiday up on those days after holidays, so they have a longer stretch off? Meaning, a skelton crew is typical after a holiday. Who knows. So Apple plays on the safe side and all staff, potentially, must be back at work from X after holidays. Reason I suggest that is we had Repro weeks in the year (sending the pages to print) on mags, no one could take holiday on that week. With that behaviour for a large company like Conde Nast in play, my thinking is as above.

I guess it's all about perspective.. I'd assume Apple would want the extra days of the week to address anything (Release today), as opposed to the Thursday release with really just one day of release week to address anything, pushing the addressing of any potential feedback to the following week.. Apple's beta releases are scheduled months in advance. I guess we'll soon find out!

Good morning! A lot of people are expecting a new beta 3 today but I have a feeling tomorrow is the day. We will find out soon!

I have a question. I’m on developer beta, if public beta come out next week do I need to download that too?
