Pretty unlikely, especially with the public beta still not having been released. Better guess would be next Tuesday or Wednesday (July 18-19).iOS17 beta 4 on the day after tomorrow
per iOS release history there hasn’t been any recent 1 week later releases of a iOS X.0 until beta 5. It’s been like that since iOS 10.0. So odds are beta 4 comes 2 weeks later next week.iOS17 beta 4 on the day after tomorrow
iOS17 beta 4 on the day after tomorrow
Probably because of this.Surprised not to see public beta at 1pm EDT. But it could still drop later this afternoon.
The way Safari 17 still has issues loading and showing its busy against the new web security in iOS/iPadOS DB3 and MacOS DB3 browsers, shows room for improvement by another beta. I mean it's perfectly useful, just odd that Safari 17 acts in this manner sometimes. Of course there are other minor issues. But DB3 doesn't quite seem ready for PB IMHO.Surprised not to see public beta at 1pm EDT. But it could still drop later this afternoon.
Because the newest DB3's are not publicly released. Dev betas usually are a bit tardy in that manner unless it's really something obvious. How come we don’t get these security fixes? I’ve noticed this with betas before, too.
We do -- they're usually applied in the next beta. How come we don’t get these security fixes? I’ve noticed this with betas before, too.

You now have some more security changes occurring also. Sure this is another reason it be more like DB4 for PB.

If DB3 lacks those security changes and DB4 includes them, why speed it up? Seems lately Apple has had more security changes than last year. But why give PB testers a unpatched beta? Just my thoughts. The security issue may delay it a day, but I don’t think they’re gonna push it back to DB 4 just for this.
Are you using these? 🤣Something tells me Official Public Beta is coming tomorrow... 🥰
Then we have this later, rapid response recall, apparently the new Safari 17 security is not so easy to solve. The security issue may delay it a day, but I don’t think they’re gonna push it back to DB 4 just for this.

I highly doubt that Beta 4 is coming this week. I would rather expect it to release next week, maintaining a basic 2 weeks cycle. Although, this would be nice if they actually release it this week.I’m not always about rumors and stuff, but is Xcode Command Line Tools 15 b4 still available? If so, that would be a good indication. Just telling anyway that it was released and pulled. An oopsie on the day of or so, sure.. but a week before? The first 3-4 betas are usually 2 weeks apart. So this is exciting!
While this would be out of "character" for Apple to start weekly releases this early, one thing I've learned is that there are no sure things when it comes to when and how Apple releases new software. So, as regulars here may notice, I rarely put things in absolutes when predicting new releases.I’m not always about rumors and stuff, but is Xcode Command Line Tools 15 b4 still available? This is exactly what @gwhizkids said in their post above.Isn't it too soon to switch to weekly releases? Although it can also be an emergency version to solve some security error or I don't know.
all this, if they finally release ios 17 developer beta 4 this week of course.
I agree that we should all seemingly expect the unexpected from Apple's updates these days.. The Zero Day issue is what's throwing me off. There's been times where the beta seed gets the fixes first AND times where it's gotten a fix after the fact. Being that the RSR was pulled, though, throws yet another wrench in the gears. While this would be out of "character" for Apple to start weekly releases this early, one thing I've learned is that there are no sure things when it comes to when and how Apple releases new software. Indeed a premature release of the Xcode tools could point to an earlier-than-normal drop for b4 (and the tweeter Aaron also cites something he saw concerning the Airpods beta firmware as evidence). But the Xcode tools release also might simply have been a mistake.
Arguing against an early release of b4 is (A) prior history and (B) the apparent zero-day issue requiring the rapid-release security update (which was then pulled due to issues with Safari).
The elephant in the room remains the impact the development of VisionPro is having on the internal iOS development process. That has rendered predictions much more speculative than usual this year.
