I hope we are wrong, but if we take into account that last year he did the same, it is more than likely that we will not see beta 4 until the week of July 24.
Last year, the re-released beta 3 of ios 16 was the same build, just changing the letter, the same as the one of ios 17.
next week we will leave doubts hehe

Kind of makes you wonder if the re-release thing is going to be a yearly way of calibrating the developer and public betas.

I can remember the times when there were different build floating out there. Now the PB tends to just be delayed in case there’s issues with the Dev Beta..

There seemed to be security updates on multiple platforms on July 10th - July 12th. It wasn't just a iOS/MacOS affair. Windows 11 saw mandatory security updates also.
Microsoft today addressed 130 CVE-listed vulnerabilities in its products – and five of those bugs have already been exploited in the wild.
Just look at what occurred today
Apple today released updated Rapid Security Response (RSR) fixes that are available for iPhoneand iPad users running the iOS and iPadOS 16.5.1 updates and the macOS Ventura 13.4.1 update.
So is this the same as last year, I don't think so. Just a busy time for cyber security updates. Does this effect DB4 launch good question for next week.
;)

And it may be that it's simpler internally at Apple for them to ensure that the DP and PB are on the exact same builds. Probably makes troubleshooting a thousand times easier if they are working on the same build.

This is pretty cosmetically buggy for a public beta… I bet we see DB4/PB2 next week.
They don't release betas to fix things. They fix things and release betas to ensure they're fixed. So, how it looks now will have no bearing whatsoever on when the next beta comes out. It will come out when they've scheduled it to come out absent something serious (like another zero day bug)

Other than the keyboard issue with iMessage, I haven't really noticed any cosmetic issues or glitches/bugs.... This release has been really stable for me.
Can't miss early Safari 17 loading some URL issues where it loads and still shows like its having issues with security. (animation of it not finished quite). Functionally its irrelevant, but the why it happens still shows its needs tweaking.

With re-release this week and PB today, I don't think we will see beta 4 until end of the month. I believe last year beta 3 lasted for 3 weeks due to the same scenario.
I faintly remember this being the case last year too, the re-release resetting the 2 week timer (essentially causing a week delay).

I see a lot of different impressions with the PB released. One of the most common traits of this DB3 2nd beta/PB is that it seems to have a few things not working correctly during initial usage, then with a bit more usage it resolves these issues and just works.

One would think Apple is more interested in a series of seedings that speed up knowing if fixes are working then just work on a build that incorporates more fixes over longer seeding release intervals? Also the next PB would not take as long to be released is likely a goal too, in other words to be able to do better then last years history of discovered issues vs fixes. ;)

Someone reading this without a lot of prior knowledge probably would have been confused when it potentially didn’t show. It wasn’t reading as speculation.
Apple *never* confirms betas until they’re released.

I’d think that even if someone didn’t have that prior knowledge, the entire thread is called

iOS 17 Speculation Thread

Sure, someone might be confused if they skipped past the thread title, and/or thought that random posters have sources to confirm things, but I don’t know about “probably”.
