You can't put out the fires everytime someone complains about iOS17 progress. I am local to Apple, and extremely well acquainted with the company's software history/sites. Let's just say I am fully aware of everything you mentioned and hope that DB4 is the start of some progress. But it's a Sunday and it's been a hot week here locally so grumbling comes naturally against IMHO the OS that needs the most help with its DB3. :p

Yes friend, the long wait is almost over, I believe we have less then 48 hours to go until beta 4.

You continually bandy about that you live near Apple. So what? You either work for them or a vendor, in which event you are violating your NDA. Or you don’t and know nothing more than the rest of us. So let’s stop with the wink/nod stuff, shall we?

I live miles away from Apple and it’s been really windy here for a Sunday.

What the funk would that have to do with speculating betas 😆😂😭

Good morning and Happy Monday!
  • So excited to report we are getting new iOS 17 Beta 4 this week. My guess is Tuesday!
  • Bi-weekly Beta ends this week and cycle for weekly begins next week since it's the beginning of August.
  • iOS Beta is life. Love it! Chrish it! Enjoy it! 💫
I am definitely looking forward to weekly betas as we steamroll in to September. I can't wait to see what some developers do with interactive widgets once they are able to release their updates.

well that was an adventure. got bored yesterday and decided to install the public beta on my 14 Pro.

after 20 minutes and a hand warmer later, I decided that this was not the beta for me to join yet. Incredibly buggy.

so I did a restore.

except I forgot that I had the beta of 16.6 installed when i made a backup.

Momentary panic.

so I couldn't restore my 16.6 backup on the 16.5 factory reset phone.

i had to upgrade it to 16.6....and THEN restore it. What a mess and waste of an afternoon that was!

You call that a mess? You should talk to the guy who lost access to his iCloud data due to Advance Data Protection and almost gave up his will to live after a week of failed attempts. Now that qualifies for a mess.

It’s all relative ain’t it? It was a mess for me and turned into several hours into the evening. Learned my lesson!

I wonder if PB2 though will be a week later?

Once we go to weekly’s on DB then PB normally starts popping up the next day then same day a few hours later. Typically.
I seem to remember it being the next day for public beta during biweekly updates. Same day often occurs after the switch to weekly.

I really find it strange to read feedback from people mostly with the latest most advanced iPhones having issues with PB1.

Just like you, I installed the PB1 yesterday OTA on my 12 mini and the only problem I have experienced so far was losing my iOS 16 wallpapers and the screen background going solid black. Fixed this by just making a new one.

The rest was pretty much fine for a beta, not even a noticeable battery drain, reported by many.

Makes me wonder what iPhone 14 Pro do that my 12 mini does not - could it be something to do with ProMotion, Dynamic Island, or what? 🤷🏻‍♂️
