They seem to speed up the releases as we approach September. The last beta was released 7 days after the previous one, so I think there's a good chance of beta 7 today.

If you look at Forums -> iOS and iPadOS -> iOS 17, its right there.
7 days after the previous one will be tomorrow, on Tuesday, right?

What new features do you think we will get this late in the cycle, with potentially only 2 betas left and then an RC till launch?
Right now it will be only stability updates, which I'm fine with. To be fair I'm expecting the developer beta to launch today, public beta tomorrow.
But could be developer beta tomorrow and public beta Thursday.
Yeah I know ,thats why i highlighted how late it was in the cycle.
I was just interested to see what YAY was thinking as she mentioned "new Features" for this beta.
At this point I wouldn't 100% deny that some new feature could come out at this point, but I think chances are very low.
I’m thinking 60% for B7 today, and 40% tomorrow (cos maybe iOS 16.7 beta comes today).

There will be exactly ZERO new features at this point in the cycle. (Moving a button around or other cosmetic changes are not features). And even those sorts of things are doubtful as we are now at the stage where they’ve started or are about to start production of the new phones.
If my iPhone supported iOS 17, I would have forgotten about iOS 16 as well. It’s a forgettable version.
We're at the point where public beta releases a few hours after developer which was the case last week.
I am personally expecting both DB and PB today, with a few hours in between, just like it was last Tuesday.

I didn't want to speculate today but I know stability and performance along with last-minute touches are the primary focus. But I have a feeling we might get a new feature or two. Only one can dream.

I think 17.1 will be the new feature/s horizon for us all now.
I could be wrong, but to me it just feels to far down the development line to start adding new things. Like you say, stability and performance tweaks from here on in through August and RC in Sept.
Also some features aren't coming until 17.2 at the end of the year. But yeah, I prefer them to focus on performance, stability, bugs and battery life. They will have a whole year to mess those up, while adding new features.
