Is it me, or are people becoming incredibly lazy? You want things summarized so you don't have to read. You want the computer to write things for you.

Come on, folks, reading and writing are basic human skills. We shouldn't be passing this stuff off to AI. It's going to make communications even more impersonal and robotic than they already are.
I think having things summarized (such as emails and the like) has 0 to do with being lazy and more about getting the most out of your time. I get that if people do this instead of reading a book/essay, but when you get a ton of notifications, having it summarized to prioritize which to focus on first makes a good case for AI. (and I'm not one of those "let's do everything with AI" types).

It looks like 18.1 beta 1 is currently only available OTA if you're running 18.0 beta 4 or earlier — it no longer shows up OTA on my 15 Pro Max running beta 5, but is still visible on my M4 iPad Pro running beta 4.

We’re on a business trip across the European Union, and we’re facing the same issue with the iPhone. Despite having US accounts, the AI feature is disabled due to the country we’re in. Anyone tried restoring iOS 18.1 beta 1 while removing the SIM card and activating the iPhone over Wi-Fi using a US IP address?

It might be you. I certainly wouldn't characterize myself as lazy.

I receive hundreds of emails per day. I have to make quick decisions on which ones I respond to, which I save for later, which I automatically archive, etc. SSR aren't sophisticated enough and I'm not sure I would trust them to that task for quite some time. The emails aren't even supposed to be the primary focus of my day.

Having summaries in the message listing is enormously helpful for me.

I'm not lazy. People that think summaries are for lazy people are probably being a bit limited on the use-cases they're considering.

Ouch. I hope that’s a temporary bug for you.

I feel so sorry for installing this shi…. Like I’m in the EU and can’t try out the Apple Intelligence features and now I’m also behind with the iOS 18.0 development cycle. 💀

Was disappointed to find out after updating that I can’t change my region to US as I have an active Apple subscription :(

No testing the intelligence for me :(

now I’m behind the 18.0 beta….

You only need to change to region in the phone settings. You don’t need to change anything of your Apple account, AppStore region or so on.

I had upgraded from 18.0 Beta 4 to 18.1. Now, my phone is still on 18.1, but the option no longer exists in the dropdown to pick the 18.1 developer beta. The only option is the 18.0 developer beta. And i see on the developer downloads website that the 18.1 beta is no longer listed. anyone else seeing the same?

Yes, a number of posters commented on that yesterday. Hopefully it means beta 2 is coming soon.

Something is going on.
As of this morning, Exchange hooked to Outlook no longer auto updates. I have to manually refresh to get Mail and Calendar updates.

Mail is still requiring manual refresh frequently.
Proton is doing well.

Been playing with the AppInt feature - writing tools - and it looks like a good start if/when they work.

Something in 18.1 is interfering with Hiya. It identifies spam/fraud etc.. however it blocks very little of it. That feature is failing.

Battery on the 15PM is about 75% of normal. Things running seem to need more.

FindMy is turned off but still showing as a battery consumer. Only shows percentage. No minutes.

I frequently have to retrigger AirDrop to get it to start sending.

In Photos > Pets this warning (see attached) keeps showing up. I do not have Apple Music.

… hope the next build shows sooner than later.

Mainly because it’s easier to navigate than MR forums for reading.

And you’ll notice I cleaned up the mess. Hold off a few moments next time.
