You only need to change to region in the phone settings. You don’t need to change anything of your Apple account, AppStore region or so on.
Oh, ok. Where is the exact settings that are required to be changed in order to apply for intelligence?

Curious… has anyone tried typing some crazy stuff into the AI Writing tools? I wanted to see if the AI would try to correct or even use vulgar, inappropriate language. Friendly will not work, and the AI will essentially tell you “sorry, I can’t use vulgar language. can we try something else?” But then professional??? holy crap 😭😭 definitely an interesting experiment. Not sure if I should report it to apple since they’d probably question my sanity. 😂

Oh wow, I didn’t realize you could keep going once it says “Writing tools wasn’t designed to handle this type of content”. Omg my love letters will never be the same 😇

Professional is hilarious.

Interesting that not only is there no mention of 18.1 on Apple's developer portal, but it's not even being signed anymore as I discovered when trying to recover to it yesterday before downgrading to 18 B5.

Yes. It is a mess. I found you can keep going but the end result is 😖. I realize this is a beta but this feature is concerning.

If you have a document with this type of language, Summary works okay but scrubs the output.

I have found if you have a larger document (more than a couple of pages), Writing Tools may hang in the background. This was common in Safari articles on an iPad Pro 11 M4. The actual content, vulgar or not, is immaterial.

Yep, confirmed! Wanted to restore to 18.1 and try to enable Apple Intelligence in iPhone by registering iPhone via WiFi with US IP address and without SIM card. Unfortunately, putting iPhone in DFU mode neither the iPhone can't be restored via Finder nor Apple Configurator!

Interesting that they have wiped the 18.1 and 15.1 betas out from existence. Hopefully this signals a new 18.1 Beta coming up in 20 minutes.

Edit: Guess it doesn't signal anything :)

Imessage

Anyone else have a long delay with sending gifs. If it’ll sends at all.

Sometimes it will send, but not show on my end. The other user can see it.

I’m more interested if anyone has the taking too long to send issue.

Anyone else get message failure when sending photos via RDS or SMS? It sends but I get message failure

Let’s hope. Otherwise some might be forced to dfu and downgrade if they have issues with 18.1.
That's pretty much the drawback, any issue and we would have to downgrade and restore to an older backup. Not the end of the world as we know that's what we sign for with betas, but annoying.

Glad I kept my Mac in 15.0

Anyone else wanna support this?
The X to close a photo is too small

This beta is a battery hog. I reset and did a restore install

Wasting my time to run a clean install?
Battery optimization makes sense AFTER all the new code is in.. so yes, I'd expect lame battery during all betas for battery-based tech, until the wrap-up

The 'battery' threads never made sense to me. Why waste time optimizing during alpha/beta stages when the coding isn't finished yet? Unless there's an obvious leak somewhere, that's horrendous..

Normally I’d agree with he beta stuff. But out of all the betas I’ve installed. This, so far, the worst

It did take the system quite a long time to index my photo libraries.. likely applying some AI hashes to the images for better searching later

But yah, I charge up often - the battery isn't any good these days, but it's nothing I'm not expecting at this point (shrug)

It is also, by far, having to do the most indexing, backend-discovery, etc. Far more than any previous upgrade.

I’ve been running betas since probably iOS 6/7 and can say this has been one of, if not the smoothest I’ve ever had.

There is a saying about betas, which I’m sure I don’t need to say!
