Anyone confirm if the typing lag issue has been fixed? Its been driving me nuts on my 16 Pro Max but I did see it was still an issue on 18.1 beta 4 so was wonder if its fixed in this beta.

Apple Intelligence apparently requires 4GB of storage on your device, strange considering that the most storage it’s taking at the moment around two and a half gigs.

i have been gettin them often with beta 3 and 4
Missing custom icons in Shortcut linked as Control Center widget is partially fixed - tested on 2 widgets I had - 1 fixed another stays with Safari widget instead of custom one. Setting icon back to Safari and custom does not fix it ;/
Edit: while playing with really bugged resizing and reorganising Widgets in ControlCenter I countered reset of Shortcut Widget to unlinked state and setting "incorrect icon" Shortcut back in place seems to fix it.

I would really like to know why they didn’t activate it yet in the 18.1 betas.
It’s really odd to remove something that is in an earlier version isn’t it?
My HomePod Minis have been installing for 2 hours per my phone and Mac.
The HomePods themselves are completely blank and cold (implying that the LEDs haven’t been on in quite some time.
I tried unplugging them, one did a boot up animation after I tapped it, nothing from the other.

I assume they didn’t remove it, rather didn’t activate it yet. They probably have forked the 18.1 beta from a build that didn’t have sleep apnea on at that point.
But by now I would have expected them to be at least at the same point with these features.

Just been a couple hours, so can't be certain, but both of the issues I was facing with b4 seem to be fixed. My CarPlay no longer reboots twice when starting Apple Music. And my touchscreen doesn't stop working when I have a bit of palm on the bezel. Very happy so far.
One new issue. I'm in dark mode with light icons and now have dark icons in the share sheet. Oh well.

I sent Apple feedback about this a little while ago as I wanted to map it to the action button on my iPhone. I’m really surprised they’ve added it.

Ok I have serious question - what the heck is with "Hearing" widget? It keeps readding itself to CC even when removed 3-5 times in row, sometimes just after leaving Edit Mode, sometimes after moving up and down in CC, sometimes when entering CC

That’s a biggy.
There is nothing about 18.1 that fits any prior beta ever. One of a kind.
E.g., we’ve never seen this many visible tweaks in a beta 5 before. My theory on that is that betas 1-4 were really just to show off Apple Intelligence and beta 5 is what 18.1 would have been absent Apple Intelligence. So it’s kind of 18.1 beta 1 all over again.
