iOS 18.1 Beta 5 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I would love to jump on this ship but thinking about waiting another week / next beta. The battery life of beta 4 vs what I am seeing so far on 5 concerns me a bit. Think it might be good to give it another week or so.

Apple Intelligence apparently requires 4GB of storage on your device, strange considering that the most storage it’s taking at the moment around two and a half gigs.

I’ve tried restarting and turning it off and on. No luck.

Sometimes, when I turn the flashlight on through the shortcut on Lock Screen and turn it off using the Control Center, the shortcut on the Lock Screen stays as it were turned on. Reported.

On my iPhone 16 Pro, I’m stuck on 22B5054e, and no matter what I do I can't get software update to find beta 5. Not even unenrolling from beta updates, restarting, and re enrolling in it doesn't help.

If that’s your build number then your already on beta 5

Overall, seems better than Beta 4 on the 16PM. Will give it a few time to see the battery.

Music-view playing indicator (indicating that “CRUSH” is playing in this case) is lagging behind actual current track, “ALL THE LOVE.” iPhone 15.

I’ve had that happen on previous betas in CarPlay, where the screen will show the song’s progress at 100% and the next song will be playing.

Just had my first respring. Can’t remember the last time I had one. 13 pro.

If it helps ive been respringing like crazy on my 16 PM with iOS 18, it seems to happen when I use the shutter button.

I had already 2 Resprings since update. One on CC another when playing with Shortcuts App.
Weird as last time I had them around 18.0 Beta 1

Have an issue in 18.0 where airplane mode doesn’t toggle any of the other connectivity buttons off in control center. So could have airplane mode and cellular data both toggled on at the same time. Any sign of a fix in 18.1?

Nope. This doesn't work in Italy. You need to change the store, too.

I have set the region to United States and iPhone language is set to English US ever since the 18.1 db1, and I can’t activate the Apple Intelligence, saying it’s not available in my country or region (I am also living in EU).
As I am not willing to change the App Store to US due to subscriptions and family sharing, I guess I have to wait until it will roll out in the EU…. Maybe with iOS 20 😂

Nope. This doesn't work in Italy. You need to change the store, too.
