Is this wireless CarPlay or wired? Brand of Car? I have a wireless CarPlay adapter and spoke a text to my wife while I was listening to a song. After the text was sent the music was playing but with no sound...I checked all inputs with no resolution. I closed music and reopened and problem resolved itself. Toyota Rav4 Hybrid..

This did not happen on my wife's CR-V...
Wireless, aftermarket Pioneer system

iPhone 16 Pro, ios 18.1 b5

First press wakes the phone. Second press opens the camera. But occasionally, the camera control button then will not sense a light press. Pressing harder takes a photo as expected. If you press the power button to lock the phone and then repeat the double press on the camera control button, it will sense a light press.

Definitely happens in 18.1b5, but I think I saw this on 18.0 before joining the beta. I just reported this in the feedback app. Anyone else?

no crashing here. do you have a way to replicate this?
I tried downloading a large amount of songs – let's say 400-500. Then I went to the Library tab, so as to access the Downloaded view. Then the UI becomes non-responsive and force-closing the app is needed.

I cancelled all downloads and tried again – same outcome. Generally, I had to download a relatively large collection of music, so had to force-close and reopen the app a few times, so to be able to check the download progress.

Update: A smaller amount of downloads will also do. I have 74 atm and the app crashed again.

OK, this may or may not be new: if I use Siri to send a message using the command “send a message, “when the dialogue comes up with my text, there is a selector for which app I can use to send the message. The apps listed are Messages Gmail, Teams, Rover (the dog-sitting app!) and Dialpad (the conference calling app).

I don’t recall having options like these before.
I’ve tried to send message to my friend with my “Siri 1.0” and she recognized that I usually talk to that person on WhatsApp, so she chose that. But it was possible to change the messaging app manually without interrupting the conversation.

They all work fine here! What country are you in?
US here. With Beta 4 things were working pretty well. Now I’m in an infinite download of Apple Intelligence, though I don’t think it’s actually doing anything and is just bugged out

My AI features work fine. Outside of a couple hiccups, it's a pretty stable build for me. With the betas now coming a week apart, the RC build should be soon.
🤞

Edit:
@GoldenChild
Updating to say a restore fixed the AI bug

Oh. Works for UK.

Because the UK is not in the EU, just like Switzerland. In the EU they block Apple Intelligence actively (and apparently they only use the store to figure out what country you are in). In the rest of the world (except China, I think) they don't care.

I must say notification summaries are more useful than I thought they would be. Especially for group messages that have lots of updates. It lets me know if it’s a waste of time reading all of them.

And I just realized today that it’s summarizes pictures from iMessage. That’s pretty cool.
Yeah it’s a really good feature. I like it for emails with tracking and delivery dates. It just brings that info to the summary without having to open to find out.

Camera.app seems to be having issues on my iPhone 15 Pro: changing the mode (e.g photo to video, or changing camera front to rear) causes the phone to enter the spinning wheel and back to springboard / lock screen

So, Apple intelligence so far, at least for me, is mostly removing people from pictures. As for the rest, what is it? it seems is still a bag of good intentions

can you tell if RCS/non-apple messages are included in the summary?

I don’t know if messages from the RCS numbers specifically are included in the summary, but I know that non-iMessage group conversations that have green bubbles are getting summarized.

I’m having a really weird behavior with my AirPods, and I’m curious if others are getting it because I didn’t notice it before this beta. When Siri reads me texts I receive, my AirPods make a strange slow beeping noise. It only happens when Siri is reading messages and not listening to music. Has anyone else had this happen?

Is that perhaps something to do with the head gestures thing?

Clean up tool, just did 3 clean ups in a row on different images and my phone started to get rather warm. Definitely needs a bit more work under the hood.
