Have iPadOS 18.2 and a couple of questions.

In Mail, I don’t have the Categories and can’t find any setting to enable it (iOS only???).
Copy between devices doesn’t work either.
Notes doesn’t work and is frozen.

ChatGPT integration is not quite what I expected. First, there is no way I can find to have it read in Siri or ChatGPT voice. It only seems to type out queries. Plus, it will only stay on the screen for just a few seconds and then disappears without any way I see to retrieve. I see you can Copy it, but with Notes not working and Copy between devices not working, this kind of limits this. Is Apple planning on a voice/read option, or are you required to use the app?
Mail categories aren’t on iPadOS beta 1. They’ll be there later.

They changed how Siri responses work in an earlier 18.1 beta where now verbal responses are just rare in general; with the default option I pretty much only get verbal responses if I use “Hey Siri” and I’m not looking at the screen.

That being said, Siri doesn’t read chatGPT results. It will just say “I sent results from ChatGPT to your phone”.

I’m not on an iPad, but I haven’t had an issue of results going away after a few seconds.

Have you been on WiFi? It appears that part of the process of getting IP and Genmoji access is that AI needs to download additional info. It’s not unlike the original sign up in that the phone doesn’t really give any indication on this happening or any subsequent progress of said download. It even took 3-4 hours before my Siri started working again.
Yeah was on wifi all day and all night
I met the criteria, but I wasn't selected :(

Anyways maps gives you an ETA of when you'll arrive when looking at different paths.
HURRAY for this I guess.

Does iOS 18.2 beta 1 have the hearing test? I’ve updated my AirPods to 7b19d and the test isn’t showing up for me under AirPods on iPhone.
Only in the United States (supposed to be in canada too but it isnt yet)

Re Mail

When 18.2 b1 first dropped, I could pick individual mail items and reassign their categories. That capability seems to be missing now. Can anyone else still do it?

I discovered via Twitter that you could dispose of all emails from a given sender using the slide controls (other than in the primary category). The odd thing though is that some email bundles have “archive” as a slide-over option and others just have “trash”. But, if you pick “more” from the slide-over control, the other option (“archive” or “trash”) is available from the menu. Weird.

Same think , waiting for approval almost 24 h , I think it’s depends on location , I’m in UK, rest of the features works fine for me.

It has nothing to do with location. People from all over are reporting the same thing.

I’m curious. Has anyone who’s been on the waitlist for a long time (eg over an hour) now been accepted? It seems they had a small number of spaces that have been filled by mostly media and influencers. Now I don’t hear of anyone being accepted. it could also be geographical.

I’ve had mine on wifi for the night and nope. I think Apple is limiting these new features until next week. Hopefully Monday or Tuesday we will be all granted access
I’m in the same boat. “Image Creation: Access Requested” for almost 2 days now — rebooted device, turned apple intelligence off and back on, using WiFi… Still no luck.

Running 18.2 on a 15 pro, iCloud mail, stock mail app and I noticed when I hopped on my mac that about 18 emails that I received yesterday never made it to my phone. I looked through all categories as well as list view/all mail and they are just not there. all appear when looking at iPad or Mac mail apps, as well as iCloud.com. Anyone else running into this?

Same thing happened to me. It has since corrected itself after I toggled WiFi on and off.

The mail app features are not powered by Apple Intelligence. They‘re just working for English right now though.
Actually… I have emails in different languages and the summary appears for me. Summary is in English, despite of the Facetas emails are in Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and English…

Happened to me too. Worst if I delete messages in junk they would come back. Using imap went to web and noticed i was missing messages. Reported it to Apple.

Another reason I think the “delay” in moving people off the waiting list is planned vs some sort of glitch is that none of the big Apple tech news outlets have published any stories about the “delay”. That leads me to believe they were clued in by Apple that this was the plan. Notice, too, that they all have access to it.

Yes. Great PR move by Apple to promote using 9to5, macrumors, etc… however leaving us in the dark isn’t nice. 😢

im starting to think it was limited and first come first serve and probably each beta will let more in, at this point im not expecting to get in until 18.2 beta 2
It can't be, I signed up at 1:30pm EST, about 20 minutes after the update dropped...

Other than a couple issues with mail, slow app opening, transitioning from screen to screen while on a call and the possible Find My issue, how's this for a daily driver?

95% of the post have been about waiting to get approved for Image Creation.

So far so good. Took it off the charger at 7 am, 11 hours later it’s at 48%.
