iOS 18.2 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I’ve had this build on my iPhone 15 Pro now for about 33 hours or so. I noticed when it’s fully charged my battery last longer than beta 1 and iOS 18.1. No idle drain.

When it’s charging, the middle and left side of the back of the phone heats up using an Apple wire with a 20W Apple charger. I never had that on b1 of 18.2 or final 18.1.

Also, Predictive Text does this in Messages. I noticed it and started writing jibberish after it. The words appear but quickly disappear. I haven’t seen this happen in any other app except Messages. I found that selecting the text and choosing an option temporarily fixes it. This issue seems to begin randomly.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I performed a hard restart, but the problem persists. If no one else has reported this issue, I’ll file a bug report. Thanks 😊

Just finished updating, grabbed my phone and it’s literally too hot to hold, 15pm, Apple needs to recall these things and put in a cooling fan and a heatsink!

Same behaviour with my 15 PM on every iOS update. But after resetting it fully and disabling iCloud bakcup, things are different. My iPhone only gets hot while using camera. Otherwise it’s quite cool.

That would be a good addition. My Androids have this. The iPhone needs it too.

It’s still an option for me with emails in the primary category.

You open an email and hit the reply button to get all the options.

If you sipe to the left and select the more option the categories menu item is indeed missing.

Think it’s a bug and I’ll raise it in feedback.

Email Outbox count is broken. Somehow it keeps sent email in there. if you click on them, they disappear but the count stays the same. then if you go back in Outbox, they are back.

Also worked with voice commands. Start with ‘ Siri, tell ChatGPT to create an image of’ …..

I'm going to try to not get excited, but 18.2b2 has fixed my blank icons in the morning, and Siri will once again play (and even shuffle) my playlists in CarPlay.

I would love more improvements and updates on CarPlay. This is a very good feature following me each time I take the road (and Waze too).

The Mail app has been using a lot of my battery, anyone else seeing that in this beta?

Yup it’s destroying mine. When my phone is in standby on a MagSafe charger it’s very warm and sometimes can’t even charge fast enough.

In the battery settings is specifying “Mail Notifications” though… I’m about ready to delete my email accounts and set them up again.

Anyone knows if you can link your chatgpt enterprise account? I tried different ways but is not recognized and is not offering the SSO login. It seems like you can only use chatgpt personal accounts?

Anyone else having an issue with Microsoft GroupMe app. When I click on it I get a splash screen for about 45 seconds then back to the desktop. I have uninstalled rebooted and installed again and same response. I wanted to see if anyone else has the issue before I report.
