Thanks a lot for your reply!
Actually, I have the latest stable release installed, specifically:
iOS 18.1 (22B83).
I updated to it via OTA, though and did not restore.
But I didn't have this problem before, for example, I didn't need to restore when the official iOS 17 came out, I just installed the official release, turned off the betas and that was it...
But with iOS 18 I've been having this problem for a long time.
I even had it when the official iOS 18 release came out and the same thing happened with the official 18.1 release.
In the end, I had to turn off the automatic updates, so that I get to choose which updates to install and which to skip, otherwise all the betas were getting automatically downloaded to my device.
So I manually install only the official updates, but I still get prompts to install the betas as if I had the beta button switched on, which is weird.
I cant either. I would try a "reset all settings". Perhaps the toggle is jacked somehow and its ignoring it. Remember you will have to set up wifi and apple pay etc and of courses any settings you have customized as they will now be at default. But your data and apps will remain.Oh really? I cannot remember this behaviour at all, but I trust what you say and I am kinda relieved that this is the case, because I thought that this specific device is permanently locked in a beta state forever! Especially after logging out from my Apple ID and figuring out that it stills prompts me to download the latest beta!
I have the 16PM and M4 iPad Pro, so 18.2 was shown as available for both devices. However, it wasn’t until the 2nd beta was released that for some reason my phone downloaded but my iPad did not. Probably because it is a phased rollout that the auto-update function won’t pick up at the same time for all devices. I got the number badge on the Settings icon on my phone because the software had been downloaded, but that didnt happen with the iPad; it just showed it as available. Anyway, turning beta updates off got rid of the available notification on the iPad; on the phone, I deleted the software first from phone storage and then turned beta updates off, which got rid of the notifications as well. That’s how it should work.I think that it did not show you a notification for the first beta of 18.2 because it was not available for all devices, it was only available for iPhone 16 series, if I recall well!
I laughed so long and so hard a this. I used to get so annoyed when my HomePod asked "who is speaking?". Yours is somehow way worse.Siris gone back to prior 18.1 for me and funky.
How does one even tell GTP that via Siri ? Here’s what I get
So far seems slightly better to me. I did also reset my phone entirely and set it up as new on the advice of Apple Support, which also helped - might be worth a go if you haven’t tried that yet.Can anyone tell me if the touchscreen responsiveness issues is fixed on the 16PM with this update, as the keyboard is a nightmare with missed touch input, with so many people affected wonder why apple is ignoring this!
Yeah. Don’t worry I “fixed” her , gave her a good ole rebooting. 😂I laughed so long and so hard a this. I used to get so annoyed when my HomePod asked "who is speaking?". Yours is somehow way worse.
Well I really don’t want to go the beta way. Would wait for the stable version. So far seems slightly better to me. I did also reset my phone entirely and set it up as new on the advice of Apple Support, which also helped - might be worth a go if you haven’t tried that yet.
I set my 16 Pro to charge up to 90% since Day 1 and it always worked in 18.1 and 18.2 b1, but earlier this afternoon I was surprised my phone was charging past 90%. It was at 95% when I unplugged it, but the battery charging history says it was "last charged to 90% limit."
Anyone else experiencing this?
I just wanted to share some of the issues that I have been running into since upgrade to iOS 18.2 beta 2. I was on iOS 18.2 beta 1 but ran into a bunch of issues so I downgraded to iOS 18.1 wating for beta 2 to drop. Here is what the last 24 hours have been like. As always I know that this is a beta and wonkiness will happen. Just wanted to report.
1. I have run into the dreaded “iPhone has found an issue with FaceID” message after a random reboot of my phone. It fixed itself after a reboot but the fact that it happened I just wanted to note.
2. I have had issues where apps will just crash when they are open, or I have had issues where I go to open an app and it just hangs at a white or black screen before crashing back to the homescreen
3. This time I havent had any issues with my text messages vanishing from my messages app but just a few minutes ago all of my photos just vanished from my photos app. They werent deleted but they are going through the prcoess of being synced from iCloud now. Just out of nowhere
4. Image playground and Genmoji exist and I got access but its just not having it load all the way.
Just sharing my experiences. Anyone else seeing anything similar on their 16 pro Max?
Mine is set to 85% & the last 2 days it's charged past that since the Beta 2. But is saying it charged to 100% on charging history.I set my 16 Pro to charge up to 90% since Day 1 and it always worked in 18.1 and 18.2 b1, but earlier this afternoon I was surprised my phone was charging past 90%. It was at 95% when I unplugged it, but the battery charging history says it was "last charged to 90% limit."

Yes. I am. I have reported the issue as well the first day of the new update. Still no resolution.Anyone else having an issue with Microsoft GroupMe app. When I click on it I get a splash screen for about 45 seconds then back to the desktop. I have uninstalled rebooted and installed again and same response. I wanted to see if anyone else has the issue before I report.
Funny, my iPad Pro started producing some very high idle battery drain.Battery and heating is way better on this. Idle Drain i was having on my 16 pro seems to be fixed.
It’s GPT not GTP, maybe that’s why? 😂🙈Least it never fails to make me smile

Ive gone through pure PSW installs of iOS 18.2 beta 2 and have still run into the same issuesSounds like a bad install. I’d reinstall using the IPSW file (directions if needed on the first page of this thread under one of the “spoilers” in the first post).
