Dark Mode not working on Home Screen.

FB16485828 (Dark mode not working in Home Screen)

You are doing it wrong :)

The Dark Mode Settings is only for the system. The App Icons Dark mode can be set when you put your homescreen in "jiggly-mode" and then in the upper left corner you can press "Edit -> Customize".

Sent an email to Federighi about my Mail bug in iOS 18 with my iPhone 16 PM that I sent feedback reports about with no response and now two days later Apple calls me about this bug. Excellent!
Same thing has been happening for me off and on with the Mail app. I forward my Gmail to my iCloud account to have push email, and I believe this is why this is happening. The OS is confused when clicking the notification as to which email to open (my Gmail account or my iCloud account). Unfortunately, I cannot disable mail for my Gmail account because then I would no longer be able to reply to the email from Gmail. I have tried so many different things with no success but hopefully you can get this fixed for me as well lol : ).

Thanks. It wasn’t set to Automatic. I forgot about that. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Notification center is totally broken now. I haven't had an issue with the notification center almost at all since it was sorta fixed in iOS 17.x. It was fine on 18.3. On 18.3.1 I literally can't open any notifications, and they all keep showing up like halfway off screen towards the bottom.

Does 18.3.1 help with stutter at all? The frame rate changes drive me insane. Ended up selling my 16 pro partially because of that and terrible battery.

This version has been terrible on 16 Plus. So buggy and glitchy and stuttery.

I feel the hit from Apple intelligence is real and Apple hasn’t figured out how to fix it yet.

noticeably more than 18.3? or about the same?

I am hearing eh things about 18.3.1

I’m not sure if this was before 18.3.1, but Messages notifications don’t come through on my phone.
Both notifications and number badge are shown on Mac, but not on my phone. This happens rven when I’m away from my mac so iphone mirroring (posaibly) shouldn’t work.
Other apps work normally, screen doesn’t light up for notifications only when I’m actively using my mac, but for Messages it never shows.

Same issue but usually the other way around.

The iMessage comes through on my phone but not on my laptop, despite using my laptop at the time. However, it's random and occasionally as you say - laptop but not on the phone. It gets there eventually but can take a few minutes. Luckily, this issue doesn't happen each message. I'd say around 25% of the time.

Since its inception, Apple have never gotten cloud services working 100% in sync.

I still, after many years, have an issue whereby I create an event on my Mac but it can take hours to sync to my phone's Calendar.

Yeah, for me it takes a while for Messages to sync, if I delete an unread message the bange takes forever to disappear and whatever I do, it’s still there

Been running 18.3.1 for a few days now and there is a improvement in batterylife compared to 18.3 on my 13 pro. Wasn't sure if the slightly quicker drain was me being more mobile or if it was 18.3.

Now, I did update my AP about the same time as the phone and the firmware for the AP did contain a pile of fixes where a few were related to RF management and other components that could have a positive impact on battery life as well.

When it comes to lag, performance and bugs there's nothing new to report, the phone is performing the same as it always have (in a good way). The only bug I have noticed is that notifications on 2 apps isn't working properly. But haven't done anything to troubleshoot it. Might be that a reboot or reset of notification will solve it.

Issues still outstanding for me (iPhone 16 pro max and Watch Ultra 2):

* iMessages/SMS fail to reliably sync across devices

* Email freezes when invoked from notification

* Stutters system-wide

* iCloud Photos syncing can take many minutes just for 1 pic

* Handwashing reminders upon arriving home still screwed (3 years now)

* Widgets can fail to update for hours

* HomeKit camera alerts delayed by up to 20 minutes

* Calendar app still shows completed reminders even when deselected. Has to be toggled off and on again for it to work. Happens after every update.

* Still can’t favourite a song via HomePod (screwed since audioOS 18), it simply responds with one of three replies none of which do what I want. Reported to Apple, promised feedback, and as usual nothing.

Purely my experience, but Apple’s software unequivocably gets worse year on year.

Very solid on my 15PM, great battery life, but this is with AI turned off. Never tried it with it on.

Just noticed I’m not getting any mail app banner notifications on my phone as I’m not using the watch today (Sitting on its charger). All options are enabled. I noticed a lot of posts online too with a lot mentioning since 18.2. Anyone aware of this issue? Or anything I might have missed..?

Edit: enabled Primary Inbox and received a notification from one account so far

Notification behavior changes on my phone (15PM / AWU1) depending on whether I am wearing my watch or not.
