I'm curious..

I've read that the Apple Intelligence portion of this update was much bigger, but haven't seen comments about differences or improvements

I'm back on the normal branch, and it doesn't even seem like I'm missing much by leaving the beta branch. BUT if Apple Intelligence is noticeably more reliable or helpful, I may jump back on

What say ye? Anything noticeably improved?

Not doing the playground stuff on mine. Haven’t really seen anything different or better.

Keep hoping they will fix Spellcheck and grammar check. 🤣

Are the chevron’s new?

Not having a cat or dog, it seems Apple's AI is not relevant to me.

Not that my phone supports it. My new laptop does, and the latest MacOS beta asked me again to turn it on, but the list of stuff it's meant to be able to do aren't things I need/want.

Hopefully, by the time I upgrade my iPhone 11, Apple "Intelligence" will be more useful. (You can sense my current disdain for it by my use of quotes 😁 .)

I mean, AI can count right? 😆
And surely from all its open resources it can pull, it knows a dog has 4 legs…
Well, if you take that logic a little further in a particular direction, it would also know that thumbs belong on hands which belong on arms. It know that dogs don't have arms, so had to add one to the dog in order to provide the hand to which the thumb is attached?

This is a picture of a Doberman standing in a puddle with two thumbs up... lol.

😂 these are problems nearly every AI Image Generator was facing in the beginning -people with more than 5 fingers, more than anatomical correct extremities etc ... they finally got better on it applying negative prompts...

I assume Image Playground has still a long way to learn/go

The "Doberman" part isn't bad. But in addition to the six arms/legs, it's not standing. Nor really in a puddle (more like a lake). It just works.

Make sure to thumbs down the image and report the anatomical issue. Its the only way for the Ai model to learn. Lots of people are having funny Ai results, bout they don't report them.

Oh and a Doberman with 6 appendages is awesome!

IOS 22D5040d & iPhone15 PM battery seems to be the best so far. 9 hours Screen Active and just went below 50%.

Can we trust the numbers in settings/battery? Tks

Moved to battery forum.

In an effort to see about “Fixing” Mail, I removed the accounts, removed Mail, did a hard reboot, reinstalled Mail, reinstalled the accounts.

Sadly no help at all.
Sunday morning I looked at Mail/badges, opened Mail and allowed it to do its thing, then manually refreshed Mail. All numbers were different. Then to top it off, when I opened one of the inboxes, the icons were pretty much all blank.

Same ol’, same ol’.

See attached.

iOS version enthusiasts that have a keen eye for things

Was your device generally better on 18.2 or 18.2.1?

And how has 18.3 beta trajectory been so far

One point of note is that for all of the unread totals to agree, you need to make sure that ALL of the separate mailboxes are each set to the exact same sort method (Category or List view). That includes the ALL mailbox, and all of the separate mailboxes as well (and the option for mail notification badges also has to be set to the same)

Agree.
18.2.1 was awful. Ran it for a day, gave up, now on 18.2b2 40d.

Battery back to normal.
Note it could be placebo but don’t think so.

I’m having some issues updating the apps.

Including this and overheating while the apps are stuck with the spinner, without any progress…
