Trying to update via the ipsw file, but it tells me my iTunes needs an update to install. It’s the most recent version, guess I’ll wait.

I finally updated from iOS 17. Seems to be going okay except for the janky animations when expanding notifications. Don’t know how they managed to mess that all up.

The very first post has a guide to install beta via IPSW.

If you’re installing a beta via IPSW for the first time, read up on it beforehand. Restoring from a beta installation can be a long and painful process, even if it seems stable for everyone else.

Location services number of permissions does not seem to add up with an actual number of permissions. In Privacy & Security it says 10, but there are actually 9 permissions granted.

The notification display animations are jerky, and sometimes the notifications don't even display and I can't see them. This happens especially with priority notifications. I have to lock and unlock the device for them to work properly. This hasn't happened to me before.

Is this a new issue? The notifications are janky. Even swiping away a notification causes the other stuff to kinda snap into place

Those directions don’t help as I am using PC. I’ve always updated to the GM/RC for years now.

13 Mini here. Was on 18.3.2 public release & installed the 18.4 RC version. Before 18.4 RC, phone was choppy, stalled while opening closing apps, & Siri literally took almost 2 seconds to open up when holding the power button down. I vowed to wait until summer for iOS 18, but fell in love with those dark mode icons on my home page my wife showed me with her 14 Pro.

Now everything is running smooth & no more issues as described. Here's the thing, the 18.4 RC install was over 7 Gigs, so I am not sure a reinstall of the entire iOS operating system fixed it or if Apple finally did get iOS 18 to run things properly. Battery life the same before & after.

Gonna have to update OTA or use 3rd party utilities to use the IPSW file until iTunes gets an update.

Screen flickering is still there on the 16 Pro Max and apple closed this feedback of me with „Not possible to check out“. I can understand some app developers boycott of the feedback app.
Hi mate. So this means that they will no longer acknowledge the issue and for those who are suffering with this issue will just live like that. 😫

I’m watching tennis on TV and they’re talking about how humid it is. The tournament is in Miami. So I asked Siri what the current dewpoint is. Siri can’t answer and asks me if I want to search the web or ask ChatGPT. I say ask ChatGPT. Below is what I got back. First of all the time is bogus (it’s not 2:32am in Miami right now) and the dew point is wrong (according to the Weather Channel it’s 66F). It’s embarrassing how bad Siri is.

So you're upset at Siri cuz chatGPT gave you wrong info?

I encountered the same problem. A pop up had showed in the background to update the required components.

Yeah this is for me too. Very poor.

Very odd how audible alerts for email are working for some and not for others. I am part of the “not working” group. The crazy thing is that I reported this back in September. They acknowledged the issue. Reported again with this latest RC build, and they continue to acknowledge the issue. This pertains to the stock mail app only.

I'm in the same boat. Push notifications are working ok for Email but no sound. I also have the same problem with many other Apps. I have roughly 160 Apps and I would reckon about half of them have silent notifications. All settings are correct. 🤬

Anyone’s HomeKit cameras cutting out if viewed for a few minutes straight in iOS 18.4?
(Happening with both Logi Circle View cameras and a Reolink Doorbell through Scrypted.)
