No I don’t use AOD - watch gives me all I need at a glanceDo you use AOD?
When I spoke with Apple Support (a senior advisor), he was surprised by the high battery usage from the Home and Lock screens. My usage can range from 10% to 15%. I believe there may be a software issue preventing the screen from turning off completely or lowering the refresh rate. I am very eager to hear what the engineers say about my logs.

Yes agree. This is addictive, it’s become part of the interaction with the phone! Don’t have it on my work phone and always get slightly annoyed 😂I’ve become so accustomed to AOD that I’d find it challenging to revert back, even with an Apple Watch.

Try to slow down haptic touch durationAnyone been having issues with your phone getting hot and dropping battery fairly rapidly on 18.1? Seems to happen throughout the day on my 16 pro.
Wondering for what exactly you need it?I’ve become so accustomed to AOD that I’d find it challenging to revert back, even with an Apple Watch.

I get almost zero messages over the day, some notifications but not that much that I need that AOD feature at all - tried it for about 24 hrs but I think it’s not worth it, try to convince me
do you have any complaints about screen touch lag?The battery on my 2 weeks old iPhone 16Pro drops quite quickly. I have switched off always on display and many other setting to save battery. Not good for a new phone
not really, I have only noticed a bit of a lag on the Daily Mail app when I click the back button but maybe it's the app, I don't knowdo you have any complaints about screen touch lag?
for the first few days it was like that for me too, but I updated to 18.1 and after a few days everything stabilized, so I don't even know what to advise, maybe it still takes some time, as I understand, the indexing is still going on at your placeI’ve just got a 16 pro, which I’ve had for 5 days now, and I’ve noticed INSANE battery drainage.
The phone came, and I updated to iOS 18.1. The phone seems to be losing 1% every few minutes or so, with just browsing. The issue occurs on both WiFi and 5G (which is expected to perform worse). However, coming from the 15 Pro Max (wanted a smaller screen), which I did run on 18.0 for some days and was perfectly fine, I expected roughly the same, maybe slightly less battery life, but this is ridiculous. The phone seems to randomly also lose 1-2% upon using the camera.
Just by typing this message, I lost 2% (admittedly on 5G but with full coverage and nothing running in the background). Is this an iOS issue, something with the phone, or the battery is just bad? 😐
The device was also setup as new. No indexing.
Did this end up helping you?Not sure it is related.... but worth toggling off NameDrop. I think for me there was something going on between my phone and my own iPad at times!
I tried it for a few days and got annoyed by it. I wondered why I got my watch for so I turned it off..Wondering for what exactly you need it?

Definitely might have been in the mix. Who knows but battery life heaps better. It could have been reset network settings, or even stopping astronomy running in background which was an odd one.Did this end up helping you?
My battery improved after resetting network settings on 15 PM...Definitely might have been in the mix. Who knows but battery life heaps better. It could have been reset network settings, or even stopping astronomy running in background which was an odd one.
