Let it settle down - but thatās why I donāt install betas anymore - donāt want that heat, battery health/life problems and so onIāve installed 18.2 beta 2! When awakening Siri my phone heats up and battery drops lol the animation is cool though! š¤£š

I may have spoken too soon. Lost 10% watching 15 minutes of a downloaded episode of rings of power. š¤Ø 16 proHopped in developer beta 3 yesterday. Battery has been decent. Better than I had on 18.1. For me I find that any data, and particularly cellular, usage really takes a hit on the battery.
Also noticed that swapping between applications pulls a lot of power. If Iām taking notes in notes but reading in kindle or books, that switching seems to cause lots of drain. If I stay in one app, battery seems to be better.
Was that on cellular or Wifi?I may have spoken too soon. Lost 10% watching 15 minutes of a downloaded episode of rings of power. š¤Ø 16 pro
Was that on cellular or Wifi?
Technically cellular, but cellular for the app is turned off and the episode was downloaded the evening before over WiFi
You installed beta 3 / public 2 today? Maybe thatās why , still wondering why so much battery consumptionTechnically cellular, but cellular for the app is turned off and the episode was downloaded the evening before over WiFi
Thatās fair. That may absolutely be a factor. You installed beta 3 / public 2 today? Maybe thatās why , still wondering why so much battery consumption

To me this seems abnormal. Today I had shy of 3.5 hours of screen time and 2.0 hours of idle time. (2.5 hours of idle time was mail while it was charging overnight) Used up 72% of my battery on a 16 pro. From unplugging to now itās been 13 hours.
Cellular has always been a battery hog on iPhones. Iāve been noticing it too.Hopped in developer beta 3 yesterday. Battery has been decent. Better than I had on 18.1. For me I find that any data, and particularly cellular, usage really takes a hit on the battery.

Same problem for me 16PEver since I updated to iOS 18, Iāve had a lot of Home and Lock Screen usage for no apparent reason. Iām on a regular iPhone 13 so I donāt have AOD and Iāve tried removing widgets and everything but it still stays. Itāll randomly even show in battery usage at times where Iāve not used my phone, itās super strange. It totals at least 1 hour every single day. Iāve tried reinstalling iOS 18 multiple times, restored a backup, restored and set as new, but nothingās helped.
Who else is having this issue? And for anyone who is, and has gone to iOS 18.2 Beta 3, has it fixed it by any chance?
Mine certainly gets mildly warm in the silicone case when on cellular only... annoying but not hot enough to fry an egg!!!Cellular has always been a battery hog on iPhones. Iāve been noticing it too.
You as well eh? Itās so weird, I have no idea whatās causing it. And the whole battery drain in general, which Iāve found to be inconsistent ever since iOS 18 has come out. Thereās days where my battery life is amazing, like just a couple weeks back, I had a day where it was phenomenal. But then with exactly identical usage, itāll be noticeably worse the day after. So strangeā¦Same problem for me o.
