The 12 PM is somewhat old now, maybe that’s why it’s not that long duration for your battery life…
How much battery health you have left with your 12 PM?
New battery since summer. 100 %.

18.1 was rock solid.

Still 3rd party, maybe that’s why you could have problems.
Why you didn’t gave your 12 PM an original battery replacement ?
Many reports of bad battery with 18.2

Will change next year so my friend replaced this for free. These 3rd part battery has been developed. Put it in my 12PM I dont care.

But blame is on me in this case for upgrading to a beta :)

Might or might not be the battery, but its obvious that the BMS can't communicate with the battery as it can't tell the health of the battery (from the screenshot). Since it can't figure out health and performance it may impact performance. But if that's standby time, performance when on battery or the throttling CPU I wouldn't know.

It would be interesting to get an official word from Apple how it treats 3rd party battery when it comes to performance.

I have installed "Omnistat", an app which shows information about CPU, memory usage, etc.... And I can see that my iPhone has a "load average" higher than another iPhone without my apps / iCloud account,....

I have also seen that my iPhone has more "network activity" (very small) than another iPhone 16 (without my iCloud account and apps) but bot background activity enabled in settings.

Yesterday, I have used my phone a lots of time but not very long each time and this pattern is disastrous for my battery.

I would like to find the culprit !

Can you share link to this app?
I have found Omnistat 2 app in AppStore which apparently is no longer supported (last update a year ago that added support for iPhone 14 so this is highest supported iPhone).
Not sure if this is app you are using.
But aside that this app looks great for troubleshooting.
Does it show CPU usage per each app/process?

Yes it’s Omnistat 2 but it works perfectly (I have bought it few years ago)
It shows CPU usage, average load, memory usage but not the process name (it would be perfect!)

A couple of days ago, I've postet a screenshot of my iPhone 16 Plus with 18.1. I still find this Software Version Rock-Solid, but i've a weird issue- it seems my phone is restarting while beeing in airplane mode and just connected to the wifi. I've reached out to Apple Support via Chat, they did a remote diagnosis and can't explain this. :)

Is anyone is experiencing the same issue or having seen that before? In my daily life, the phone is working as usual, no sudden restarts or freezes at all.

So how is battery life on iOS 18.2 overall on the 15 Pro/Pro Max? I’m still on 17.5 because of all these issues I’ve been seeing…
It’s quite good on my 15 PM.
Still more idle drain than iOS 18.1.1 imo.

Interesting because on my IP 14 battery consumption in idle is very low. Close or no change to how it was in 17.7.2.
I really can’t complain.

To tell you the truth, I'm already frustrated with it. Here is my story:

16 Pro Max
Had it for 2 weeks, but could not achieve more than 4h SoT and 50% battery usage. The unit was working under 18.0.1. I returned it. Manufactured in September (phone and battery).

16 Pro 128
I bought it directly from Apple. My max SoT was 6-6.5h (and the phone was unplugged at 7:00 AM). At 9-10 PM, I had 20% battery left. I returned it to Apple because I saw people here and there with 5h SoT and 50% battery usage. Manufactured in September (phone and battery).

16 Pro 256

I have had it for more than 7 days. I feel the battery doesn't work as it should.

For example, I disconnected it today at 7:00 AM, and after 8h, 30 min SoT, and 1h idle, I have 89%. But at the same time, looking at the history, I can't achieve 5h SoT and have 50% battery remaining. Doable is 4-5h SoT in 80% of battery life. I use 18.1.1 now. It was manufactured in October (phone and battery).

Settings:
- 5G turned off
- AoD turned off
- background apps turned off
- rise to wake up turned off
- 40% of location services - turned off
- I conducted a new installation each time I was configuring a new unit (DFU > restore > iCloud > no backup).

I'm not sure if it's a problem with the phone itself or the software. I find it hard to believe that three copies are defective while produced at different times. I don't know if it makes sense to replace the device again, and I don't understand why some users have such nice battery life and such performance and other users have poor performance. In my case, I can estimate from the charts and battery history that I won't reach more than 6h SoT after using 80% battery.

To be honest, I don't know anymore what to do.

After one month of having 16 Pro 256 battery seems to be unpredictable. There was a day when I was able to have 4h SoT in 50% battery usage but it was the maximum I was able to achieve (WiFi).

Now, when I am in a business travel, using LTE battery drains quite quickly. But still, 3h SoT is my average with WiFi and moderate usage. It is impossible to have the same issue with 3 different units. And I have a feeling (can't confirm it) but limit set to less than 100% causes battery drains more quickly.

Please disregard the highest stats marked with red. I was charging the phone during the day.

Apple claims everything is ok, service engineer will say it is ok because it depends on apps I use. At the same time I see that other people can use and use and use their phones and have a minimal battery drop.

I really hope that 18.2 will improve the battery efficiency.
