75 watts or 7.5 watts? Is it USB-C?

Only time my iPhone detects a charger is a slow charger is when I use USB-A to USB C cables that are these cheaply made ones I get from the dollar store.
This one (7.5w)

Oh, dang it! It’s a non-MagSafe wireless charger with USB-A. No wonder it’s so slow to charge!

Embedded wireless chargers, like the one in my car, don’t cause such issues with slow charging. Even my MagSafe power bank—a black iHome one that provides up to 12 watts of wireless power for all iPhones 12 and newer via MagSafe—works well. I have a 15 pro and it works wonders

Perhaps you could try a MagSafe charger? Anker offers a wide variety of these chargers. They even collaborated with PopSockets, a well-known adhesive phone grip company, to create a MagSafe power bank that features a PopSocket! This eliminates the need for any unpleasant adhesive residue. All magnets, ensuring a hassle-free experience. IMG_5505.jpeg

I added my Apple Watch back to my daily routine after a couple months without. Currently 18.4b2 is getting similar battery life to 18.2-3 without a watch. Some good improvement.

That’s why I think there is no link between battery life and charger model.

A colleague of mine has the same charger and same iPhone and has a so much better battery life (see old post in this thread).

Is it iCloud related ? difficult to know.

Has to be. Do you use the following iCloud features: handoff, automatic backup or anything that syncs into your iPhone constantly?

Other non iCloud features like iPhone mirroring, wireless AirPlay and Universal Clipboard can cause a toll on your battery.

Good day. I had a problem with high battery consumption and the Safari browser was draining the battery a lot. I started using Google Chrome, but the phone continued to discharge faster than it did on 17.7.1 for a month. The last thing I did was clear the "important places" log in the settings (I had some very old entries there). Enabled system services in geolocation: System settings, Share geolocation, Important geolocations. I also enabled "use optimized charging" and started leaving the phone to charge overnight. After 3 days of use with these settings, the battery life from 1 charge increased. The Safari browser (I don't use it) disappeared from the battery consumption graph. Previously, it was there all the time and wasted the battery. The evening heating of the smartphone when watching videos also disappeared. I don't know if all this is somehow connected, but in fact, battery consumption became normal on 18.3.1

As always, tradition of “Battery life shall be insane while using original iOS versions” is dutifully respected.

iPhone 16 Plus, running iOS 18.3.1. 2/3 Wi-Fi, 1/3 5G with outdoor brightness, camera, and maps. Wi-Fi’s brightness wasn’t too low, about 20-25%.

9h 12 minutes of screen-on time, 100-58%, so, 58% remaining afterwards. Obviously, the 27-hour rating needs lighter usage, all Wi-Fi and no outdoor brightness 5G. This extrapolates to about 21.5 hours of this mixed usage, pretty much perfection, here’s a screenshot:

Good morning, iPhone users! I have a question for you. As I checked out my charging settings, I noticed that iPhone 14 and older users don’t have this feature. So, this is only for my 15, 15 Pro, 16, 16e, and iPhone 16 Pro users. I checked the charge limit, and iOS suggested that I lower it from 95% to 90% as the maximum limit. I’m going to cap the battery of my 15 Pro at 90%. Is this a new feature in iOS 18.4, or has it been there since you got your 15 Pros in iOS 17 or since y’all got your 16s? Now, I’m pausing charging after my iPhone hits 90%.
Follow up, everyone. I’ve reinstated the charge limit to 95%.

The 90% limit wasn’t sufficient for long-term usage of my iPhone during a long day. I reserve that suggested limit for days when I don’t have to go to school or have long outings and keep my iPhone off the charger. However, I’ve been at home a lot in the past two weeks due to severe storms, but the charge limit is only effective if I need to dock my iPhone in the room while I relax and work on my laptop. I use standby mode on my dock.

I’m still using iOS 18.4 beta 2 on my 15 pro. Y’all updated to beta 3?

Sure and it runs very smooth, even better battery i would say for my 15 PM

That's good to hear - I've noticed a seemingly bigger battery drain on the days I wear my watch since updating to iOS 18. Glad to know it wasn't all just in my head haha, and that other people noticed it too.

I am curious @FeliApple , are you going to update your iPhone 16? From my humble point of view, I think you’re safe to update to 18.4 or 18.5 once they release them. Maybe even to the last 18.7 update. However… do you plan to update it to iOS 19, especially if it comes with the redesigned interface?

I’m not planning to, no. I never update anything, but I’m planning to buy an iPad to use as a sacrificial lamb against my main (and beautiful!) iPad Air 5 running iPadOS 15.

(See: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...t-please.2453067/?post=33802237#post-33802237)

Also, I’ve never been captivated by features. I’ve had too many run-ins with poorly performing, updated devices to care. There’s probably nothing they can include in terms of features so as to make me update a perfectly-working iOS device.

Really good for me (iPhone 15 Pro). But I guess my case is a special one, as I always had massive battery drain until this Beta.
Also I‘m currently sick and sleeping most of the day, so not a good baseline to compare right now.

So that means that the iPhone is basically on the charger almost all day?

I don’t use AOD …
Try and turn of WiFi and BT for a while and see if it keeps draining. Not saying its a permanent solution but just to see if there could be network related. Could be you have devices that isn't behaving as they should in the network. Same goes for BT.

Edit: realised that you wrote that the devices is actually working fine on beta :)

18.3.2 - day one and two battery was horrible. Now I’m about a week in and the battery life is the best so far on 18.XX. Hoping it gets better. Now I’m on 73% or better when I get home at 6pm from work. Before I was in the 48% range.

Mines is only shut off during sleep focus or low power mode.

So my iPhone battery took a dip today. Took my physics test today this morning from 9 to almost midday 🕛, the battery had a sudden dip while idle. Had to take Apple Watch off and put it away with my iPhone for 2 hours. My 15 pro runs on iOS 18.4 beta 4. Used a MagSafe power bank when the battery dropped to 35%.
