Definitely noticed my battery draining faster on 15 Pro Max with public beta. Seems to be significant background usage during the night. Have felt the phone get warmer more often too.

I have 80% limit set and battery is still good enough (100% health launch day phone) so not worrying. Hopefully improves as we get closer to release.

After an initial day of heavy usage after installing the public beta, battery seems back to normal on my iPhone 15 Plus. I don’t notice any excessive drain, still getting ~ two days of battery with moderate usage.

Then maybe a downgrade to iOS 17 is needed? Sorry to hear that!

I would rather use the iPhone less and wait for the next beta vs going through all the hassle of going back to iOS 17. The time is working in our favour too, so just a bit of patience.

This is iPadOS but as there is no similar Wiki over at the iPadOS-Threads. Running quite hot and fast-draining battery on Mini6, everything fine (slightly faster draining but to be expected on a public beta) on the M4 iPP.

Ended up downgrading to iOS 17.5 today. Battery just wasn’t acceptable and I’m leaving for a trip in a few days, can’t afford to lose so much battery life.

Same experience here on my 15PM. Draining faster and warmer at times. 80% limit set and finally hit 99% battery health today at 199 cycles.

Mine is set to 85% (recommended by my phone itself) and I drain too on my 15 PM, tomorrow should the 4th beta be available, hope it gets better with it!

Average SOT in the last 9 days : ~6hrs

I hope I’m wrong but I would be surprised if we get beta 4 this week. Beta 3 has lasted 20-21 days the last two beta cycles, and the public beta being released as a new version earlier this week makes it less likely to be tomorrow/next week too imo.

Most comments here about Battery issues are just after updating.
We should understand that indexing drains and warms the Battery over maybe a few days.
I would wait 5 days before judging anything.

Good advice but the public beta has been out since Monday which means I’ve been on it for almost a week.

That’s why I waited for 9 days or so, to see how it holds up this time - 6 hrs average SOT is ok I guess for an early beta…not the best but ok

So for me the Translate app was hogging all my battery. I've not used this app at all since updating to iOS 18 but it's running in the background throughout the night! I've uninstalled it and my battery seems like it's back to normal.

Anyone else noticed this??

edit: I have now reinstalled it to see if that fixes/replicates it.

Beta 4 installed - will post my experience in 3-5 days - meanwhile collecting data - so again for everyone, battery will most likely be bad right after a new update , so keep this in mind

On my 15 pm, the battery life is not too bad. I can still push out a full day of heavy usage.

On my 11 which is now my work phone, it is definitely killing my battery. 2 hours ago I had full battery and after two hours of use I Almost lost 1/2 of the charge. But my battery health is 83 percent.

What does heavy usage mean for you?
I get 6 1/2 hrs of SOT average on my 15PM with beta 3 - installed beta 4 we will see if it gets better

My screen on is usually 15 or so hours.
I am a true crime junkie. I refuse to pay google for YouTube premium so I have to leave my YouTube videos playing in the background.

I went to bed at 7 am and woke up at 3 pm and my phone was still on 60 percent despite the screen being on and on full brightness for 8 hours.

Add in me on my social media and texting and FaceTime and listening to music at the gym and then gps for three hours

My phone didn’t die until a little after 4 am this morning.

on iOS 18 Beta 3????? For real? Could you post a average SOT screen? Would appreciate it

Left my phone on charger over night, it’s set to 85% limit - I guess it was recalibrating this time - it charged up to 100% but charged the whole time? That’s not the normal behavior right?
