I actually tried resetting my phone last night and it messed with my Microsoft Authenticator app that I use for work. So I think I'm just going to update OTA from now on.

If you do ipsw as an install vs update (after OTA or previous ipsw) you do need to reinstall the MA.

Same issue on mine. Also affects other work overlord apps

They have an iCloud backup option, but only for personal accounts. Annoying.

The problem I have is that the keyboard doesn't show the emoji icon nor the world icon to change language. That's not a big deal, but it is that I can't open emojis now... Have you tried restarting? If yes, check Keyboards settings under General and make sure it’s turned on.

Hi! Thanks for your quick reply! Yes, I tried restarting and I checked keyboard settings. I didn't see anything wrong, but I don't understand what you mean with "it's turned on"

Some people here seem to believe that both AI and Siri V2 will require the latest chips (A17Pro and M1) to work. If so, there will indeed be a lot of unhappy campers, myself included, and not just over the beta period. I mean I can use ChatGPT app just fine on my iPhone 15 now, so why should it suddenly become a problem with iOS 18? At least give us the could version, as it is now.

That’s because Apple Intelligence is not ChatGPT. Takes a lot more horsepower to do this stuff on device and integrate fully with the device. ChatGPT on your device is just a web input window. All the magic happens on OpenAI’s servers.

They've moved loads of settings under "Apps" at the bottom.

I had to search for "Mail" to work out what had happened to the Mail account settings.

Yeah, not a fan of that. Means more scrolling and tapping to get to commonly used settings.

Nice to finally be able to change up the lock screen shortcuts. Took way too long. The control center changes are pretty damn nice too.

Haven't had much time to dig around so not noticing a whole lot.

Apple Watch weather showed up in widget this morning. I guess it needed to rest or get a server-side kick in the butt.

Pretty typical for widgets during the summer betas.

That’s a really poor choice of location. Seems like it would work better as part of the menu that pops up when you long press the send button.

I submitted that as a suggestion earlier today. For now, I moved it up in the list.

Yeah, not a fan of that. Means more scrolling and tapping to get to commonly used settings.

If they're into customization, we should be able to "favorite" or "pin" a few settings we use the most.

Btw, the Music sounds different. I’m running the latest AirPods Pro 2 firmware and first thought it was cuz of it, but the sound is fine from the MacBook.
