You’d think Apple would let the developers have HomePodOS 18. Can’t see my timers nor alarms on iOS 18. Apple says you must use a legacy os. aka 17.x or lower to view / edit alarms or timers. Apple’s response just ask Siri to set or what is set for timers / alarms. 😬

Maybe this has been posted already in this thread…

Switching to dark mode and reverting back to light modes causes icons to have a grid (blank) appearance instead of reverting back to light mode icons. Switching back to dark mode doesn’t change the icons back to dark mode icons. Reboot is the only fix for me.

Update: the only fix I found that works without rebooting is to switch to large mode icons and then back.

anyone else not able to add a second language to the same keyboard?

It suddenly stopped working and when I try to add a second language (English) to the German keyboard, it shows it correctly in the overview but once I hit apply it adds English as a second keyboard

Hard to say iOS 17 is legacy when it’s the latest stable public release.

Delete them all. Then add German first and second English. Mine were like that until I deleted them and readded.

I guess it’s not common use case but I tend to switch between native Polish and English (US) system language.

So this lead to finding new issue - ControlCenter widgets happen to reorganize or removal of some of them 😅
As it’s repeatable and was not in Beta1, reported as: FB14041172

99 little bugs in my code…

Just tried Phone Mirroring.

Had to turn Bluetooth on, on both devices. So it only works if the devices are close to each other. For me, that makes it a feature I doubt I'll ever need. Oh well.
Does anyone know if iPhone mirroring requires 2FA to be turned on? Does it work with all iPhones that are running ios18?

Don't think I saw it in the first days of iOS 17. It was only the analog option on the calendar view.
Possibly. But if so it came no later than 17.1 or .2. Bottom line: it was in iOS 17 and it’s not new to 18

In CarPlay, the screen layout selection icons (the one at the bottom left that lets you toggle among app menu view, driving focus view and single app view) has been changed. Driving focus now appears to be the default but it has no dedicated button. The buttons themselves have also been redesigned.

I seem to have lost the ability to designate which shortcut I would like to run from a Lock Screen widget.

iOS 18 Beta 2 IPSW doesn’t work at all. I try to install it in iTunes, it tells me I need to update iTunes. Hello? It’s up to date???? No worries, I decide to finally give the new Apple Devices windows program a try. Shift click update, select the IPSW… and absolutely nothing. Not a progress bar, a warning, not even so much as an error message. Just absolutely nothing.

Progress! Courage!

Any idea what happens if one deletes the new Passwords app? I assume passwords will still autofill and whatnot, but I’m too nervous to delete the app and see what happens.

Well that was odd…..
Updated my 15PM OTA, had to do the “Agree” thing. It updated without asking for the Install permission nor told me that the install was done. No “Hello” either.

This was a very odd update for me.
Mine is a 15PM as well and I’ve got the Hello screen.

A little late to the party but if you are trying to update using IPSW, I had to update my Mac to the latest version of Sequoia. I tried updating my iPad on beta 1 and it wouldn't work. Updated the Mac to Beta 2 and it updated my iPad just fine.

The beta IPSWs are restricted. You need Xcode to install it on a Mac and you can't install it on Windows at all.

Are you on Sonoma or Sequoia?

I think the difference in the curves between the squircle icons in the folder and the curves of the folder squircle background could look odd if they were larger. And now I really want to know the proper name for them. (And it had better be an improvement on ‘squircle’.)
I just don’t like the wasted space.

I ended up installing OTA, which I really do not like to do.
So far I really can’t say I like it (14 PM)
Of the few things that have changed, none of them are improved.
New photos app is straight up trash. No two ways around it.
Safari seems snappier than usual but when you open a new tab it only shows me 4 large suggestions of frequently accessed pages? Whereas it used to show me like, 12 or 16 at once? Big difference. Not for the better.
Outlook keeps opening the desktop version now instead of mobile and is therefore practically unusable. It was fine before.

Practically every other aspect of the user experience almost seems completely identical to iOS 17 in every perceivable way.
