Also one thing to consider, is that if you have photographic style enabled, lets say rich contrast then photos might look different in the Camera app preview when compered to the end result. Because colors will be changed after shutter is pressed.

Right now it is set to HE, 24MP, ProRAW Max, ProRes HDR. Phot Style is “Standard”.
Pretty much default I suspect since I did the update view iPSW and haven’t adjusted the settings.

Here is an example of this from yesterday. Had a storm (Arizona Monsoon) coming in early evening and the clouds were dark grey with the clouds in the center being white. Took two shots; one stock and the other at 3x zoom. Focus on the clouds. They both looked as described on screen when looking pre-shot and you can see how the shots actually came out.

One of the reasons I don’t use my 15PM as my main camera.

Mostly likely setting the stage for the public beta this week. Apple wanted to make beta 3 as stable as possible.

The public is more scrutinizing than devs.

Otherwise why not just release "iOS 18 beta" over and over again until Apple are happy with it. Grr.

It's not that it's a smaller beta necessarily. OTA updates are delta updates, so it only updates what has changed. So if you were coming from beta 2, it would likely be a larger update to the revised beta 3

I did have B3 installed already though, from last Monday. I guess I worded my original comment badly, my apologies.

Apple released iOS 17 beta 3 on July 5th, 2023 and Public beta 1 on Jul 12, 2023. There's a 100% chance iOS 18 public beta 1 will release this week with the same build # as today's re-release.

Apple's beta schedules are pretty much close to the same strategy every year. [give or take a few holidays]

Ah, that’s what I was fishing for. I wasn’t aware that B3 was revised until just now.

I think I found a hidden feature in iOS 18, particularly in the Maps app. I believe it's an indication of what's to come for the native Maps app on visionOS.
