iOS 18 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

You are so right. Even in RAW they are pretty much a mess at times.
The other big complaint is low light shots. They tend to bleed to orange/yellow.
Here are two indoor shots taken just now. On the right is stock 15PM. On the left is stock from another device. The one on the left is how it looks and how it looked on the 15PM display pre-shot.

Very disappointed in the 15PM and the 18 betas are making it worse IMO.

UPDATE - after posting the site swapped the pics. The light grey one is how it really looks.

Will it be enough at least in the beta to just set it to English language in the settings, to get at least fresh looking Siri even when I am in the EU?

I mean I can’t think about the case where apple locks Europe out until next year, for an design change, what do you think?

In proraw low light photos are terrible, these are my 48mp proraw max low light shots (3sec). As you can see, proraw and non-proraw is useless in low light. No its not green in my home. :D

Tinting seems to be more reliable now in the revised B3.

Do we think widgets being tinted also is business as usual? Would be nice if only icons were tinted and widgets left alone.

So there’s no release notes? Does anyone know if the modem changed? I’m getting half the signal strength as previously. Reset network settings/hard reset no help.
EDIT: according to Zollo no modem update.
EDIT#2, Apparently while I was updating the phone AT&T was having data issues in my area. 🤣 it all got back to normal in a couple of hours.

Anyone having trouble with the telephoto lens in this beta? I was trying to shoot some video at night and no matter what it wouldn’t use the tele lens so the video quality was horrible. Can’t believe Apple still won’t let us choose and it makes you use the main camera. In the past I haven’t had this problem and videos I’ve taken at night looked really good.

Isn’t there an app that’ll let you use the telephoto lens even in low light?

Apple's Final Cut Camera lets you choose the lens but it would be ideal if you didn't need a pro camera app to do something like that.
 
Is anyone having issues outputting from iPhone to external monitor via USB C? Works fine on my iPad with the same cable and monitor..

Mine is in Small Mode and Dark Mode and appears green and white

Try their new Final Cut Camera app. Maybe, it will be the solution to your problem. Perso, I haven't tried it yet.

Comparing where I’m at in Fairfax on my phone with iOS 18, my Mac with Sonoma, and my partner’s phone with 17, the parallax in Look Around is identical.
 
Just curious, did anyone else lose some Apple Health data after updating to iOS 18.

Not sure which beta it was, but just noticed a lot of historical data is now gone. :(

Lost my qnap thunderbolt connection when updated to public beta, still no solution...
