Lost my qnap thunderbolt connection when updated to public beta, still no solution...
You did a hard reset?
If it’s crucial for you, go back to iOS 17
And make sure before you go back to report it with the feedback app, otherwise apple won’t know about it

completely noob here, not a hard reset but i don't have time machine backups

How is the "new" beta 3 build? Anything new with it? Is it less stable compared to the "old" beta 3 build?

Is the Customize button working again on iPhone models without the Dynamic Island or do you still need to perform a workaround to make the Customize button work?

Is the public beta toggle on Software Update only available for the "new" beta 3 build?

iOS 18 DB 2 - 22A5297f [June 24 2024]
iOS 18 DB 3 - 22A5307f [July 08 2024]
iOS 18 DB 3 - 22A5307i [July 15 2024]

Then you should do a hard reset by pressing volume up volume down and then power button until the apple logo appears, then release your finger from the power button.
That forces your phone to reset and restart - you won’t lose any data! It’s just like killing the explorer.exe on windows to make sure everything’s running well and smoothly after a bug or freeze.

If you don’t understand what I am referring to, just google for „iPhone (which iPhone you got) hard reset“

I would say it’s the same stability as the „older“ beta 3 build.

Maybe just try and if not just downgrade to iOS 17?

And I would assume that the toggle will be available no matter which beta build you have installed on your device - vice versa it wouldn’t make any sense.

Oh boy but then that’s the wrong topic your asking in…
Everything in here is about iPhone/iOS beta 3 bugs/improvements

But again, if you do have an iPhone and you installed the Beta and it’s not working properly, try the hard reset first, before you go back to iOS 17.

And if you’re on a Mac, maybe a normal reboot helps? Dunno…

Downloaded the PB last night. My home screen is set to Automatic, but when I go into Dark Mode, the app icons don't turn dark. Am I missing something?

You have to go to Customize on your homescreen in the left hand upper corner - the tiny „+“ after you edit your homescreen.

There is the option, to turn all apps to darkmode if it’s not working automatically.

If you want to have it switch automatically try to hard reset/force restart your iPhone.

If it’s not working afterwards and you want dark apps, just turn it on in the customize settings

Edit:

Tried it myself on Beta 3 and it does not change automatically, I will use the feedback app to report this bug to Apple.
Feel free to report it as well.

Here’s the Feedback Report ID so you or anyone else can copy it and tag it to their report of this bug: FB14338276

Yeah tried all that and still doesn't seem to be working so will make a report too.

thanks!

Has anybody else having problems with their Airpods Pro 2 (lightning version, case on 54.26.1) since the start of the beta cycle? Sometimes only one of the airpods work, other times they disconnect for a few seconds while listening to podcasts on my phone.

No not all.
Maybe unpair them and reset them?

Why anyone thinks Apple is going to include any ai features, until near the end, is beyond me

Im confused, how youre getting + icon on your homescreen? I dont have any buttons on my homescreen when clicking customize.

Because there is already a setting in XCode that hints to Apple Intelligence, that’s why some of us think that Apple will most likely add some AI features before the beta turns into official release in mid/late september, that’s why we discuss it

Sorry it was a little „+“ in earlier beta I believe, it’s in the left hand upper corner „edit“ after you did a long press on your homescreen like you normally do when you move around your apps or widgets.

I hope it’s clear now what I wanted to say.

Does WiFi works for you guys?
I can connect to a free WiFi nearby, but it shows 4G connection.
My watch can connect to this network too and it connects to it and I can go to the watch App Store for example.

My iPhone does not has connectivity to WiFi at all…

Edit:
Wanted to report it to Apple, but I don’t have any information about the network, so I guess it makes no sense at all.

But I found out, when I turn of Bluetooth the WiFi connects and shows the symbol besides the battery life.
Will test it with another hotspot tomorrow.

My Messages read receipts are on. I have them turned off. Not sure if it's the revised beta, but it apparently started yesterday.
