This beta enabled 5G Stand Alone for Vodafone UK making them the first MNO in the UK with SA on an iPhone.

They have just announced a new in-person developer event on August 14 for Apple Intelligence. Might this point to a new beta release then? Do we not switch to a three week schedule after beta 4?

Still can't change the Voice for the Speak action in Shortcuts.

My Feedback has "more than 10" against it, which is good - it's not just me.

Can anyone let me know if the Battery icon in CarPlay shows up when connected via a cable in iOS 18?

So essentially seems like no new changes from what most of you guys are saying. Looks like most things are pretty much gonna be finalized usually design wise by beta 4 or 5

I see this as well when using AirPlay (as you are). if I switch to headphones or the iPhone speakers, the layout looks correct.
Yeah it’s better when not using HomeKit stuff, though still sits a tad too high… such a tiny sliver of space between the album art and the Now Playing platter

I think it only shows up for wireless CarPlay.
Urgh ok. Thanks. This has bugged me for sooo long. Why is it different from your phone. If you charge with a cable or wireless on your phone you can always see the battery icon. Why not the same on CarPlay?

Could be because Wired CarPlay automatically equals charging and no need to bother with the battery level, whereas wireless CarPlay shows the battery icon in case the phone became misaligned with the wireless charger and allows you to re-align it.

Still doesn;t explain why the battery icons shows on your phone when charging it via a cable (in the car or out) then.

Why one situation for CarPlay and different for iPhone and other devices?

I don’t think so. This event seems more keyed to the app intents / Siri stuff.
