Yeah, sure. Let's be real... they literally been telling this every single year.

No.

RCS support was vehemently denied by Apple and everyone until Nov 16/2023 when they suddenly announced it would come in 2024. There is speculation it may have to do with the EU, but no-one has actual evidence as to why.

Siri getting pervasive LLM support has not been a rumor for long, maybe a year? The LLMs popularity itself is relatively new.

I just want to be able to place an App anywhere I want.

I don't care if it's done by blank tiles or some other mechanism. But forcing me to follow a grid for App placement on the screen is annoying as hell.

Have you, by any chance, ever taken an OCD test, or been diagnosed?

I have a friend who organises all her Home Screen apps by color. Blue icons on one screen, green icons on another, etc. This seems to satisfy some creative (or obsessive?) desire, and I have to admit it looks quite cool.

This has been a point of contention for so long that it’s starting to look like a clandestine vector of entry for law enforcement. With the advent of Face ID it’s completely redundant in any other context.

Huh? Can you explain more? Are you suggesting there’s security issues in the camera app that allow the phone (or its data) to be accessed via the Lock Screen?

Is this satire, this doesn't sound big at all to me. RCS support is expected and Siri getting smarter could mean anything considering the fact that it's the dumbest of the bunch and hasn't seen any improvement in anything other than its voices since it launched 13 years ago 😵‍💫 I'll give it to them that it's the most natural sounding assistant though. iOS is great as-is, there's just parts of it that are so long in the tooth you wonder how they're shipping certain things still.

I'll be satisfied with iOS when I can clear out my iCloud storage by deleting iMessage images without them magically reappearing, when I can AirDrop reliably (often times when sending larger files or a lot of images it gets stuck at "Preparing" or tapping the person does nothing and it just hangs), when the Weather app goes back to being accurate as it was pre-iOS 16 because this one is too optimistic and everyone's been complaining about it (I switched to The Weather Channel's app just because of how inaccurate it got even though I much prefer not having third-party apps for trivial stuff like this), and when they figure out what to do with the flashlight on the lock screen thing. I'm tired of activating the flashlight when pulling the phone out of my pocket because I'm "holding it wrong".

RCS will be a huge improvement in the US. WhatsApp isn’t a thing here and half the people I know are android. Getting tired of having to use Facebook messenger to send photos and videos and half the time the files are too big to send via that anyways

Both Apple and Google messed up by not pushing an open messaging standard like RCS much sooner. They’ve allowed WhatsApp (and WeChat, Line, etc) to dominate messaging in much of the world.

Even with RCS it may be a slow hard grind to claw back eyeballs from dominant messaging apps in many countries.

please for the love of god take the camera shortcut off the lockscreen / or at very least let us disable it without having to root the phone.
Why, do you turn on the camera by accident? I feel like I may have done that only once ever… Meanwhile, I use the lock screen shortcut for the camera on a daily basis. Just curious…
Obviously, being able to customize it, for some other functionality would be nice.

From this year, every new major feature in software will be realised only for the sake of Vision device. Like that was before for iPhone. So on other devices rather then Vision, there will be bugs and couple minor features.

iPhone, iPad and miniHomepod are in the living room and when I say Hey Siri it triggers all devices. I wish I could address one at a time.

Even if change the iPhone and iPad to just “Siri” and HomePod to “Hey Siri” it still triggers two devices when I say “Siri”

I have a HomePod mini in the office. If I say "hey siri", both my iPhone and HomePod wakes up, then they cancel each other out and both go back to sleep.

My only request for future iOS versions:

Fix the “continuous playback” setting in Podcast app settings, so it doesn’t keep constantly turning itself back on.

So infuriating!!! 😡🤬

I just can’t wait until they redesign the look of the OS like they did in iOS 7
My guess is this will never happen again in that comprehensive way, because at this point it would be too much work, since iOS is much bigger and has more first-party apps with more screens than 10 years ago. They will only change things bit by bit, and/or just in the most prominent places.

RCS isn't a feature for the user it's a feature for non users. Wierd to make a big deal of it. But the RCS must not run through google.
