I could see that. Apple could hold off on beta 4 until the 18.0 public release so they can push 18.1 beta 4 to all devices at once.

Like what happened when iOS 17.6 was released, iOS 18.1 will be come the main focus once iOS 18.0 is released on Monday and probably on Tuesday, the beta will release for all supported devices including the iPhone 16s

No, I don't think that is the case. If you're on 18.1 now, you'll have no issue restoring. And, as I have noted numerous times above, the new phones will prompt you to update your phone to the beta if it detects that you are running a beta on your current phone.

I wonder if we are getting beta 4 tomorrow as Apple turned on this today.

Yeah, when I went to the other thread, I figured out what you were referring to. I’m now getting that as well. Interestingly though I am connected to Wi-Fi.
 
Little bit annoying but seems to block Siri entirely even for just a timer or alarm setting

Given the 18.1 beta 3 is 2 weeks old already, seems this week is toast for a beta 4. Not like a beta 3 just for iPhones 16's is that meaningful, when they aren't available yet.

Apple this week announced the new iPhone 16, and the new phones will come with iOS 18 installed. The update is also coming to previous iPhone models next week, but this first release doesn’t include Apple Intelligence features. For that, Apple is running tests with iOS 18.1 beta – and iPhone 16 users will be able to update to the beta from day one

Looks like beta 4 next week.
