iOS 18 Speculation Thread

What is the RC of iOS 18 worth? Is it a good version or is it better to install iOS 17.7 on Monday?
 
Well, it’s odd that we’re not on a 2 week cycle yet….i know there’s a lot of criticism online that the new iPhones will launch without any Apple Intelligence features at first and even though 18.1 is in the works through us and them like there’s multiple features we haven’t even tested yet in AI and so it makes sense to me for them to release updates every 2 weeks before pre-orders and not in line with that so bugs can get reported and ironed out. But I suppose someone way high up at the top of the totem poll knows what they’re doing and are making us wait for a reason….sigh..I digress. Lol we all want updates and we want them now! 🤣

it would make sense if apple released beta 1 of ios 18 for all other devices the same week as ios 18 release, but as far as i remember, the first beta of version .1 of each year has been released the week after the official release. If this year happens, and they decide to wait, we will spend 4 weeks without a beta and it doesn't make sense, because if they were in a hurry to release it without finishing ios 18.0, why would they wait a month now?

Now that 18 is in RC, there's really no need to separate them out because anyone remaining on the beta track would get 18.1 (unless 18.0 has an RC2, then you'd need to be on the track to get it)

What annoys me, are these types of delays knowing that only developers from outside the EU can use the features of AI, mirror and other news, I don't see the sense of the 2 weeks being the tests very limited, there are a large number of users in the EU to be significantly important to have them! I said!! I'm very angry!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Put it this way there does need to be a new 18.1 beta before the new iPhones are released to the public as it would be pretty tricky / impossible for people to restore from backup for people on the 18.1 betas.

My money is on either tomorrow or Tuesday / Wednesday next week.
