so far things seem smooth, but I know people will start complaining before tonights up saying everything is wrong and we need 18.0.1Something wrong so soon?🤣
Honestly, disappointed no new beta build for 18.1
I added that cartoon, it reminds me of how many times we encounter something unusual the first time after an update, and then you try to reproduce it and dang it's gone. Another example is if you have to disable something and then reenable it and the problem is gone.
possibly as early as this friday if going by 17.0.1
If I recall correctly the 17.0.1 update was only for the new phones and then they released a 17.0.2 shortly after

IMO 18 seems like a continuation of 17.6.1 but with RCS capabilities and screen customization
Well day 19 is done, going for day 20 tomorrow for the win with iOS/IPadOS 18.1 beta 4.
Ipad loaded with iPadOS 18, iPhone iOS 18, Apple Watch preparing to install watchOS 11, Mac Studio loading Sonoma 15.0 still have the homepods and the Apple TV to go. Apple updates are fun, Windows updates are not.

I’m not so sure about that for tomorrow.
I know some have argued that the iPhone 16 situation retires beta 3. Why? Functionally there’s no difference between beta 3 and the hypothetical beta 4 insofar as the iPhone 16 goes. If they can update just-out-of-the box 16s to beta 3 during setup, they can do likewise for beta 4.
I’m speculating maybe they released the beta 3 for iPhone 16 to allow developers to get a head start on Xcode for coding 16 specific features on 18.1? Maybe
More than likely it was so reviewers could see Apple Intelligence in action on their iPhone 16 review units.
The iPhone is released every year on a Friday. Why would the X.0.1 release be any different this year than other years?
Thats certainly possible, also add the possibility its for reviewers that got their iPhone 16's before consumers.
