The watch app for iOS 18.1 beta 3 doesn't show all the new watch faces from watchOS 11. It only shows the photo face, I can put the other two on the watch, but they don't exist for the iPhone haha
Come on Apple, update the iOS base in 18.1 haha

Guys, I said it before… no beta until next week. They released beta 3 for iPhone 16 models on Friday. They’re not going to do that only to release beta 4 right before the iPhone 16 is released.
I am not sure why you would say that. The iPhone 16's are coming with 18.0 and for those of us on the beta we will have to update our new iPhone anyway. I don't think that is a determining factor.

18.1 shouldn’t be considered analogous to any other X.1 release. We’ll possibly have 6-8 betas.
Thats right
And just a FYI to others here how long it has been use. As one can see its seeding only to devs has more akin to a WWDC seed with first so many betas spaced widely apart. No weekly examples yet.

18.1 beta - Jul 29, 2024 (devs only)
18.1 beta 2 - Aug 12, 2024 (devs only)
18.1 beta 3 - Aug 28, 2024 (devs only),
a separate iPhone 16 seed of beta 3 made available Sep 11 (devs, early reviewers before availability)
18.1 beta 4 - Sept 17, 2024? (latest prediction)

These iOS/IPadOS 18.1 and MacOS 15.1 betas have no mention to when PB testers will have access, although we think beta 4 might be the first example.

But why would they release 18.1 for iPhone 16 if no one is going to download it? The other scenario is they release beta 4 for every other device, and iPhone 16 is behind one beta until next week. Apple wouldn’t do that.

Iphone 16 samples before availability to dev for coding/early reviewers, internal Apple employees. Possible update version order required for 18.1 betas to successfully install for iPhone 16 users, after all the initial factory system is not yesterdays Sept 16 18.0 seeding to the public is some earlier build chosen.

So no one that gets a iPhone 16 can download the iOS 18.1 beta? I better cancel my iPhone 16 then. LOL

No, that’s not what I’m saying. If they released a version beta 3 for iPhone 16, and you think they’re going to release beta 4 today, then they would’ve released beta 3 for nothing because the phone isn’t even out yet. So my point is Apple released beta 3 for the iPhone 16 with the intention that it would be the most current beta when the iPhone 16 is in stores.

9 to 5 was running a poll on would you buy a
i realized we have not gotten any .1 betas of watchOS, tvOS, homepodOS either.. maybe with beta 4?
None of those devices are paired with AI implementation of 18.1/15.1 (iOS/iPadOS/MacOS)
They would all follow the 18.0 evolution whatever that is after 18.0? 18.2 maybe?

I just feel like they would’ve released beta 4 last week if that were the plan. I mean they were on a 2 week cycle, so if they intended on releasing beta 4 before the 16 release, they would’ve just released that last week to give developers extra time to test on that beta.

I assume there are already a few in the wild… special testers, creators…

But I’m not optimistic myself too…

If I had to guess, the beta they dropped for iPhone 16 last week will be beta 4 this week for us and then everything will be back in sync.
