guess there is a possibility of no iOS 18.0.1 release and they go straight to 18.1 in a few weeks based on 18.1 rumored to be released in mid october.
Doubt this, as iPads are apparently bricking, and some people are experiencing touch screen issues.

Maybe it’s just a matter of 18.0.1 not being ready yet, but I’m surprised they released 18.1 beta 5 while Apple’s latest and more advanced iPads are still stuck on iOS 17.

I guess on the other hand, they’re embarrassed that they didn’t have any Apple Intelligence features ready to ship on launch day, so they’re playing catch up.

the new bug has just arrived with peoples touchscreens not working on Iphone 16. Wonder if not they are going back to fix 18.0.1 to add in help for that situation

beta 6 next week followed by rc the following week? that puts the public release in the mid october timeframe.

if there is iOS 18.0.1 this week would be to fix the bugs between now and then.

beta 5 vs beta 4 still shows everything in motion FW, Darwin, Safari, Music/TV app versions. Don't get comfortable with beta 6 being the final beta.
During its iPhone 16 event earlier this month, Apple confirmed that iOS 18.1 will be released in October, but it did not provide a specific day.
They need to get it out in October still gives them 2 additional weeks after 10/14.
