could see it being awhile if there is an iOS 18.0.1 since the issues just got knowledge the other day

they not gonna just have a fix ready in 1 day could be complex and have to do testing to make sure it was actually fixed before putting out the release.

could skip to iOS 18.1 also since we are nearing the end of beta releases for it

I kind of struggle to understand why some are outlining next week for a RC of 18.1. IMO, it is way to early yet. Public beta is normally released same time or at least same day when a release is nearing the end. 18.1 public beta was still 24 hrs after the dev release. We have a bit yet.......

I cant remember that Apple ever released two updates on one day so I doubt we will see 18.0.1 today
iOS 17.6 came out the same day with an iOS 18 beta build (can't remember which one) but at 1pm pacific, so it's not entirely out of the question.

Because nothing about 18.1 is normal.

the article came out sunday and the complaint had just been reported
Considering releases are finished 1 or 2 weeks before they are released to the public, do you think it’s possible Apple is aware of certain bugs and release it anyway?

If you’re answer is no, are any releases bug free?

I think if we don't have the update tomorrow, even the most ardent of Iphone supporters well be left a little bit confused

cmon Apple, I want a more polished iOS 18 to update all my devices to the new major version!
Polish means nothing, does it work well enough for you is more important. I have everything running 18.1/15.1 beta 5. Backup and try it. 😎

If you got a very new devices gauge installation success in the forums. This time of the year there are always some issues for the newest products haven't had enough enough wide exposure/feedback. ;)

Yeah, also, we won’t probably start to see a well polished iOS 18 until 18.3 at least. I’m currently on iOS 17.6.1 on my iPhone and… there are still annoying bugs such as the brightness control center slider not responding. Hopefully iOS 18 will mature faster…

I’ve always waited until spring or even summer to update my devices to the new system but this year… this year is different. I really like iOS 18 so I’m decided to update early in the cycle.

Brandon Butch says he expect Ios 18.1 during the 2nd half of October like Oct 21 and I have to say I agree. That'd give more room for IOs 18.0.1 to be released next week and we'd still be on track

Should be a Monday aka Oct 21st as that is when public release usually show. It's my current prediction. Tuesday used to be the typical day the beta seeds shows up, but since 18.1 showed up, they been using Monday also.

BTW that Oct 21st schedule allows a 18.1 beta 7 it continues to be weekly.

What if… what if iOS 18.1 along with macOS 15.1 were released the day the new M4 Macs (and possibly the new Apple TV & iPad mini) are announced? That would be mid-late October.

I honestly think that Apple could rather take 1-2 weeks more to polish 18.1 instead of releasing too fast.

AI features are not life changing imo and I’m pretty sure that most people who scream for AI on Apple devices won’t even use it regularly after the first week.

iOS 18.01, ipadOS 18.0.1, watchOS 11.0.1 would be nice to have before i go on vacation tomorrow but well see
