I honestly think that Apple could rather take 1-2 weeks more to polish 18.1 instead of releasing too fast.

AI features are not life changing imo and I’m pretty sure that most people who scream for AI on Apple devices won’t even use it regularly after the first week.

18.1 is the gateway to 18.2 and 18.3 and most importantly 18.4. Hence the urgency. They want Genmoji and Image Playgrounds out in time for Christmas. And they absolutely have to hit the mark with the Siri stuff in 18.3 or 18.4, or poof there goes the recent stock runup.

Exactly and my reason iOS 18.2 beta will be coming sooner than later. Possibly this week or early next week.

I'm guessing we get something today or tomorrow public. Not sure exactly what that something is, but I am sure Apple wants to get 18.0 back on the iPads that it was bricking. It may just be a re-release though....... however let's hope for 18.0.1 if they are going to do a release.

That really depends on what is the exact cause. Is it it something to do with updating to 17.7 then 18.0 for a small set of users or is it an unanticipated variance with hardware operation. After all it's the first M4 based iPad. The degree of being able to successfully reproduce it is key.

There have been very few complaints of anything beside the touchscreen issue on Iphone 16 and I'm sure that is a vocal minority
