Interesting security fix corrected without community knowledge.

Jamf Threat Labs uncovered a significant vulnerability in Apple’s iOS Transparency, Consent, and Control (TCC) subsystem on iOS and macOS that could allow malicious apps to access sensitive user data completely unnoticed without triggering any notifications or user consent prompts.
Across Apple’s ecosystem, TCC functions as a hugely important security framework that prompts users to grant, limit, or deny requests from individual apps to access sensitive data. You’ll likely encounter these prompts when opening applications for the first time. However, a TCC bypass vulnerability can happen when this control mechanism fails, potentially enabling the application to access private information without the user’s explicit consent or awareness.
The newly discovered vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2024-44131, impacts the Files.app and FileProvider.framework system processes and can expose users’ private information, including photos, GPS location, contacts, and health data. Moreover, Jamf says it could also allow potentially malicious applications access to a user’s microphone and camera. This exploit can occur completely undetected.
Apple fixed this back in Sept but the embargo is now lifted, it was implemented on release of iOS 18 and macOS 15 back in September.

Starting to see a lot of Apple Intelligence ads pop up on the social medias here in the UK so I think today might be the day.

EDIT: I’ve now had another ad (which links to Apple UK) stating Apple Intelligence is available now. Looking likely we will see updates rolling out today.

Is Apple Intelligence not available at all in the UK as of yet?

It’s US only until 18.2 drops.
Hmm thats very interesting indeed then. If they started rolling out AI ads to people in the UK then i think that further strengthens my prediction that 18.2 is coming today. I thought Apple Intelligence rolled out to everyone in the world with 18.1 which included features such as Clean Up in Photos, Email Summarization etc

Also, I just received 20+ App Updates on the app store which isn't necessarily an indication of anything but worth noting non the less

I guess technically it is available to everyone provided you change the language on your phone to US English, however 18.2 now means you don’t have to do that and will get it natively in the UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa.

U all need to stop the "lots of app update stuff" I get around 15-20 app updates every single weekday. this has NOTHING to do with iOS updates. Yes you will see a bump in updates after major updates, but not after minor updates like this

A. 18.2 is not a minor update. B. I stated in my post that it is not an indication of anything but worth noting non the less.

Yup, that pretty much confirms it 👍🏽

I wonder if build is same as RC 2 or new build

99% chance it will be the same as RC 2. I would think it would take an absolute high security issue for them to change the build again.

yes, in regards to app api´s etc this is a minor update. there's no need for app developers to update they're apps due to this iOS update, and there usually is no reason for that with .x updates
