This alone is confirmation about how much importance Apple places on these Apple Intelligence releases. Other than X.0 releases when was the last time Apple did a press release for an iOS update before it landed?

Maybe Apple is staggering iOS 18.2 so as to not overload the AI servers?
Seems to be that case. TechCrunch also reporting about the release.
There is not much of AI servers involved yet. Image playground is on-device, AND its a waitlist for it aswell

Exactly. I think Apple will want to begin beta testing on iOS 18.3 soon as well, so I’m guessing we’ll see the first beta either possibly today or tomorrow. 👍🏻
Yeah, probably tomorrow, but still a chance it could drop today. But I’m guessing they’d drop it tomorrow to distribute server traffic.
I wonder if iOS 18.3 will include some of the things Apple mentioned as “coming soon” in future iOS updates such as Siri’s “on-screen awareness” and Siri’s ability to “take hundreds of new actions in and across Apple and third-party apps.” I know the rumors have been about these features coming in iOS 18.4, but there was also talk about Apple expediting some of these features into iOS 18.3. I’m interested in seeing what will be new in iOS 18.3. 👍🏻
That’s why I said in two of my other comments that it likely isn’t today, but there is a greater than zero chance since I’m just guessing and don’t know for sure either way. 🙂👍🏻

Maybe the on screen awareness thing. But almost certainly not the third party actions thing. That’s probably the last thing they’ll release this cycle.
With 18.3 straddling the holidays, developers aren’t going to be focused on implementing the necessary changes in time for a mid January release. That will likely involve the most intense app update cycle in a long time for a non X.0 release.
That’s why I said in two of my other comments that it likely isn’t today, but there is a greater than zero chance since I’m just guessing and don’t know for sure either way.
I’d say this is asymptotically approaching zero. So much so that personally I would never give odds on it occurring.
But that’s me! It’s the speculation thread so speculate away.
