The Apple Intelligence page specifically says iPhone 15 Pro for AI functionality. I think they're trying to keep things on device as much as possible, which can't be done on older devices. The cloud servers are only used as a last resort on already supported models.

Thanks, looks like I may get it on my M1 MBACleanup is part of Apple Intelligence. They covered it under that section in keynote and Apple have it in their Apple Intelligence section, not iOS 18 :

I would say a rough rule of thumb is whatever is in the beta right now (or at any point until they release Apple Intelligence as a beta feature) will work for everyone.

When do you think beta 2 will be landing?
Last year it was 16 days after DP1. So, if that holds (big if!), I'd look for it around 6/26.
Wondering also if there might be more than 8 betas this year? Seems more likely this year to me.
Going by last five years, it was always 8 betas, before RC with iOS XX.0 release. Yeah that seems to be what Apple usually does.

Almost everything lol, maybe they should have just skipped to iOS 19, makes me wonder what they’ve been doing all this time. I know we’re only on beta 1, but I can’t remember so little being ready like this from the beginning.
This might be like 2021 where 17 days later with only beta 2 you have the first PB seed. Normally it's 30 days later from WWDC with a beta 3 in July. Some beta cycles are a lot more interesting.

I discovered the flashlight beam trick the first day I used IOS 18. Its a nice improvement.
That would be great but I mean for every user whatever language and country and device. Many features are English/US or some countries limited.
That, unfortunately, I have no way of knowing. We’ll just have to wait and see.

It’s not as bad as it seems…. It’s only 21 points, 9 are country specific and only 3 are US only at launch.
That’s not including Apple Intelligence, which is English US restricted at the start (so might be able to just swap language over like people did last year for live voicemail).
Hoping for a ß2 next week. My 14PM is no longer talking to my Watch 8. it worked until Friday afternoon. Bluetooth says it’s connected, but nothing is working. Going to try and re-pair today.
Update: I unpaired the watch, did a reset and erase all, re-paired, restored from backup, and everything is happy again.

Unfortunately 2 weeks between betas. There is always hope. 😁
Going by the past it should be June 25 or June 26 that beta 2 shows. Tuesday or Wednesday. (15/16 days). Then it will be another 14 days until beta 3.
